Issue received

When users submit touchpad issues to call center: 1. No function. 2. Cannot change touchpad setting. 3. Cursor jumping around. And others relate to touchpad module. A. Can it be fixed by switching with function keys or buttons?

Please make sure touchpad function is turned on. Yes. Issue closed No. Go to step B.

B. Can it be fixed by reapplying AC and DC?

Remove AC and battery to reset EC. Yes. Issue closed. No. if the touchpad is completely impractical, please go to step H. If the

touchpad is working but functionality is limited, please go to step C. C. Can it be fixed by adjusting driver setting?

Please try to change settings to default and see if touchpad function is retrieved. Yes. Issue closed. No. Go to step D.

D. Can it be fixed by updating touchpad driver?

Please remove the current version and install the latest version. Please use the driver released on MSI global website. Yes. Issue closed. No. Go to step E.

E. Can it be fixed by updating BIOS ad EC version?

Please update BIOS and EC which can be found on MSI global website. Yes. Issue closed. No. Go to step F. BIOS update SOP:

F. Can it be fixed by updating all drivers? Please update all drivers that are available on MSI global website. Yes. Issue closed. No. Go to step G.

G. Can it be fixed by system recovery?

To avoid confliction with other application, please use F3 recovery to restore system to factory default setting and see if touchpad function is ok. Yes. Issue closed. No. Go to step H.

H. Check the connection between touchpad and mainboard.

If above steps cannot help to solve the problem, please ask users to send the unit back to RMA for further inspection. First of all, please check if the cable between touchpad module and mainboard is well connected. In the mean time, please check if cable is not damaged. Issue solved. Issue closed. Issue unsolved. Go to step I.

I. SWAP touchpad module.

Please SWAP touchpad module to see if the problem is solved. Issue solved. Issue closed. Issue unsolved. Please go to step J.

J. SWAP mainboard.

Please change the mainboard. Issue solved. Issue closed. Issue unsolved. Please contact FAE for further assistance.
