Year in ReviewJesse Kroeze, Country Director, TTW Uganda
2011 was a turning point in our ministry with visions being fulfilled and new dreams being made for the future. We were able to celebrate the success of providing clean water to the community as well as seeing the medical clinic be brought to near completion.
Perhaps the greatest achievement of this year came through solid relationships being formed and trust blossoming through one-on-one discipleship groups. After working exclusively in Adak for
over three years, TTW Uganda has been able to build a mutual friendship with the community at large and be a part of true spiritual t r a n s f o r m a t i o n . We e k l y community worship nights have provided an outlet for Biblical teaching and a place for spiritual fruit to be seen.
Our vision is to equip communities to be sustainable, interdependent, and spiritually transformed and we have had the joy of seeing our vision come to light this year.
Through the help of generous donors, we are well on our way to beginning a major agricultural initiative which will help bring our medical center and additional communi ty pro jec t s to fu l l sustainability.
W e t h a n k y o u f o r y o u r contributions to restoring lives by empowering our community in Uganda. With God all things are possible and we believe that more blessings are to come in the year ahead.
Touch The World Uganda is dedicated to equipping the people of Uganda to live in communities of sustainability, interdependency, and spiritual transformation.

TractorTOTAL NEED: $70,00075hp New Holland 4WDVISION FOCUS: SUSTAINABILITY AND INTERDEPENDENCY
A tractor equipped with the proper farming
tools will ensure a sustainable future for
TTW’s Dream Center. Farming is at the
core of our community and a tractor will
not only allow us to farm our own land in
order to generate income but it will also
benefit the community to increase farmable land.
This will move people past subsistence farming and
into a position of having disposable income, thus
increasing their dignity. A suitable tractor donated
from the US to be shipped to Uganda is also a
welcome possibility.
Irrigation SystemTOTAL NEED: $10,000VISION FOCUS: SUSTAINABILITY
As a key component to farming, a mobile irrigation
system will be installed. This system will ensure that
our 50-100 acres of crops will be well watered even
during times of drought. Chances of success
increase with greatly with irrigation bringing the
possibility of full sustainability that much closer!
First Year CropsTOTAL NEED: $10,000VISION FOCUS: SUSTAINABILITY
In order to jumpstart our agricultural enterprise so
that it lasts well into the future, we must be able to
cover the first years expenses. With the vision to
establish an income generating project to support
our non-profit, service based ministry (i.e. medical
center, discipleship) this is a vital contribution.
Crop Drying SystemTOTAL NEED: $2,000VISION FOCUS: SUSTAINABILITY
Once the crops are harvested, they need to be laid
out and sun dried to the proper moisture level. In
order to minimize combining the harvest with
foreign objects, a controlled method of drying must
be used. This crop drying system maximizes heat
through the sun and protects against rain, dust and
stones making it the ideal option for all our crops.

AGRICULTURE

Our hope is to run the community
center off mainly solar power that
would consistently provide lighting
and power to minimal-demand
outlets. The medical center though
will have large equipment to run with
high power demands including an x-
ray machine. As it is impossible to
run these high demand machines (i.e.
x-ray) necessary for the health center
off solar, we need a generator that can
be turned on when needed. This
generator will serve as a back-up for
the whole center when the solar is not
generating enough power and is a
necessary component for operations to
run smoothly.

Phase, Open build
Solar SystemTOTAL NEED: $17,500
VISION FOCUS: SUSTAINABILITY We have recently installed solar panels
to power our solar water pump which
now provides the first clean water
source in Adak. A solid steel rack was
welded on the top of our filtration and
storage house that can facilitate up to
30 panels (of which we only have 12
installed).
Currently, there is no power source in
Adak and without power, operating a
medical center will be very difficult.
The installation of 18 more panels
will enable us to begin having a steady
supply of power since it is always
sunny and we are right on the equator.
SolarWorld 80W solar panels cost
$450 each and we are in need of 18
panels to complete our system. This
will give us 1,440 Watts of power that
we can store in batteries on a
consistent basis.
The total cost for solar panels is
$8,100 but a sponsorship of even 1 or
2 panels will get us closer to our goal
to provide power for the community
center (including health center,
vocational school, staff housing and
office). Additional needs to complete
this system are charge controllers,
batteries, inverters, and wiring. This is
the beginning of the larger vision to
establish a full solar farm to fully
operate all community activities.

2012 Solar Refrigerator
TOTAL NEED: $3,500
VISION FOCUS: SUSTAINABILITY
Certain medicines and immunizations must be kept
cool/cold in order to be effective. With our medical
center in the middle of the village, far from any
electricity, having a refrigerator that runs on its own
power through a dedicated solar system is necessary
for effective operation.
As a non-profit ministry to the
marginalized, any subsidy can help save
lives. Sponsor our medical staff
including nurses, a pharmacist, and a
doctor for a period of one year. This will
benefit the people in Adak as they receive
attention from a full staff as we work
toward operational sustainability through
our agricultural initiatives.
Medical Staff Salary - One YearTOTAL NEED: $15,000
VISION FOCUS: SUSTAINABILITY
Medicine Supply for One YearTOTAL NEED: $3,000
VISION FOCUS: SUSTAINABILITY
While there are a number of medical facilities in
Uganda, many lack medicine and must turn away
the sick and suffering. We believe that will never be
true for DCU and that God will provide all the
medicine needed to treat every potential disease and
sickness possible. Support our medical center with
the cost to keep us fully stocked for one year.
“The provision to access to a medical facility is the number one felt need by the community and we could not agree more. Too many people are needlessly dying.”

The core of all we believe in is spiritual
transformation. Every project, ministry and activity
is bathed in prayer and has the end result of guiding
people into a restored relationship with God. Bibles
and other discipleship material are so needed in the
village to walk beside people as they develop
spiritually.
Recreation is a lost art in Uganda that needs to be
reclaimed. While sports are therapeutic and also
encourage community, DCU believes that its another
avenue to draw people into learning about Jesus.
Help build a basketball and volleyball court in the
community of Adak as part of our holistic.
Vocational training was the basis for the beginning of
Dream Center; an opportunity to educate and equip
former child soldiers and children of war who had no
access to formal schooling but now have to find a way to
put food on the table and provide for their families.
The Dream Center Vocational School to date has
graduated 81 students (58 tailors & 23 masons). We are
just gearing up for our next class of students which will
learn baking. As we prepare for the new class, we are also
praying that money will be provided for us to build a
formal vocational school building within our community
center.
As of now, our classroom for skills training is in the shade
of a giant mango tree. However, in Uganda, an actual
building must be in place in order to be recognized by the
District Educational Officer to offer formal training with
official certification. This school structure would provide
a versatile design enabling separate classrooms that could
open up into one large meeting space to accommodate up
to 200 people. To train the many students, we will need
areas that can be used as classrooms and also areas where
they can do their practical applications.

The people of Adak have been battered and broken, traumatized and tortured. Let’s work together to birth a new future with dignity and dreams fulfilled.
