Te orngat Mountains National Park oers one o Canada most exciting hiking environments. Here we have a land lesstravelled, a place at the very northeastern reaches North America. Te Inuit o Nunatsiavut and Nunavik have transitedthis area or thousands o years, and we will explore this spectacular landscape on oot. Te land is rich in wildlie andhome to polar bears, black bears, caribou, wolves and oxes. We may encounter some o the parks wildlie throughout ourhike, but certainly we will revel in the wildowers in ull bloom. As we complete our trek we will have the opportunity ormarine mammal viewing along the mountainous shoreline. A highlight will be our helicopter drop o, where we will havethe great privilege o viewing the towering mountains and deep valleys by air. Te next week we will traverse this grand
land, experiencing the thrill o a climb and the rewards o sweeping vistas.
On this excellent hiking opportunity we anticipate covering 60kms over the course o fve days. Our group will be led byhead guide Mike Beedell, and accompanied by an experienced Inuit host and bear monitor. Each participant is expectedto provide and carry their own gear. Aside rom our ew meals at camp we will come with our own catered camp ood,prepared in advance by a gourmet nutritionist. Some ood and camp gear will be distributed amongst the group whilehiking.

who are sculpted by the sea and land and who create unique art ,music, literature &liestyles. Mike began exploring the orngat Mountains twenty years ago long beoreit evolved as a National Park. He has logged thousands o kilometres by ski, kayak,trekking and yacht over the years. He looks orward to sharing his passion or this place
with the most impressive mountainscapes in eastern North America.
Mike has had 30 years experience as a wilderness tour leader, photographer andguide. He is Adventure Canadas longest standing guide and oers a wide variety oexperiences rom small group adventures to expedition voyages.

July 26: Arrival in Goose Bay
Arriving in Goose Bay, you will make your way independently to your included
hotel and choose a restaurant for dinner.
July 27: Goose Bay to Base Camp and Saglek Bay
This morning we board our Twin Otter and depart Goose Bay to Saglek, where
we travel onward to Base Camp, arriving in time for lunch. After our orientation
with Parks Canada staff and our guide Mike Beedell, we enjoy dinner at the
camp and spend the evening in Inuit-style tent accommodation. Here you will
have electricity, heat and raised bunks with bedding. Our shower and dining
facilities are onsite.
July 28 August 1: Hiking in Torngat National Park
Today the helicopter picks us up in camp and takes us to our drop-off point,
approximately 60km from Base Camp. The next ve days will be spent hiking
in the Torngat national park with our bear guide and Mike Beedell. Meals will
be healthy & delicious. We will explore the beautiful Nachvak Brook valley a
former migration route for the Inuit into the interior. We will hike this brook
from its beginnings at over three thousand feet down to sea level. En route we
will hike through beautiful tundra vegetation and see such owers as Arctic
Heather, Cotton Grass, River Beauty & Purple Saxifrage. We will listen for the
shrill cry of Peregrine & Gyr Falcons from the cliffs overhead and hope to catch
Arctic Char on the lower reaches of the brook to add to our dinners!
When we reach the ocean at Saglek ord on the 27th we will be picked up by
boat and taken back to the Kangidluasuk base camp.
August 2: Return to Base Camp
Arriving back in camp, we will enjoy a nal dinner here and spend our last night
in the large Inuit-style tents before leaving this enchanting landscape the next
morning.
August 3: Depart for Goose BayAfter breakfast, we transfer to the airstrip via longliner to join our charter ight
back to Goose Bay for your onward connection.
