Top Ten Reasons to Invest in the Keokuk Area Chamber of Commerce 1. Grow a healthy regional economy. Investing in the Chamber is investing in Community and Economic development efforts in the Tri-State region. These efforts in the past year include designation as a USDA Rural Development SET Region encompassing Lee County, Iowa, Clark County, Missouri & Hancock County, Illinois (srdc.msstate.edu/set/home). 2. Web Based Marketing of member products or services. Use Chamber website, social media sites and e-newsletter to promote sales, add events to community calendar and list employment opportunities. 3. Information center and member referrals. Every day the Chamber receives calls from individuals and businesses looking for information. The Chamber is the center for this information and refers member services and products. 4. People do business with people they know. Grow your business by increasing your visibility in the community through participation in chamber committees, networking events, event sponsorships and advertising. 5. Increase credibility of your business. A study conducted by the Schapiro Group indicated chamber membership is an effective way to convey to consumers that a company uses good business practices, is involved in the community, cares about customers and is reputable. 6. Iowa State University Extension and Outreach partnership. The Chamber Director is a partnership position with ISU Extension and Outreach, Community and Economic Development Unit, increasing access to University services and curriculum. 7. Build a better workforce. The Chamber partners with local and Tri-State organizations to build and recruit a qualified workforce and provide local professional development opportunities for business owners and employees. 8. Gain a voice in government. The Chamber hosts monthly legislative luncheons during the Iowa session.
