The Word of God Promises that you can have whatever you say in Faith.

    St. Mark 11: 23, 24

If you desire a breakthrough in your fi nances, make the following word based confessions daily and speak your fi nancial prosperity into existence today!

In the name of Jesus, I declare that Gods desire for me is to prosper fi nancially.

I possess the power to seize wealth, and lay hold on my covenant right to be free from bondage to debt, lack and insuffi ciency.

Abundance, prosperity and the good life are mine.

I speak to the mountain of circumstances and command it be removed from my life now!

God is my Source; He is the God of breakthrough.

Therefore, by faith I declare that this is my receiving day and year of fi nancial breakthrough!

I will give God what belongs to Him, His titheits not mine to begin with.

I will give the Lord an offering, to move His heart towards me.

I will discipline my spending and watch the miracles of God in my fi nances.

I declare this in Jesus name!

October 1, 2009To the Saints of God in the Tenth Month ~As we enter this month we have embarked upon the season of CHANGE and MOVEMENT. During the Manna from Heaven celebration one of our speakers declared, Th ere is more to come. Well, we have arrived at the season

I sincerely solicit your prayers more than ever, as we approach the ceremonial days for the United Covenant Churches of Christ. Tabernacle of Praise will o cially become the Mother Church and the Headquarters of our national ref-ormation YOU have been exalted. We must seek wisdom in all areas of our lives like never be-fore. Our nances, through our tithes and o erings to propel the local church to the next level must be consistent, and an example for the days ahead that the church will continue to advance. We must excel in maturity and our worship ex-periences must be explosive, so that we can without fail see the vision and participate in the dream coming to pass in our services. Th e kingdom is not in the walls of TOP but outside the walls. As I have mentioned, my schedule will be extremely tight this month as I shape some items for this national o ce. May our attendance be strong in every celebration and our praise as loud as we can send it. Please insure you get your Ads in the Commemorative Journal and the ads of the businesses you frequent. • Life at Tabernacle Of PraisePrior to becoming part of the fellowship, I visited Tabernacle of Praise from time to time. Especially on special occasions, when the posted banner outside the sanctuary would draw my attention.

In the early nineties the congregation was much smaller. I do remember receiving a slip of paper with a worship song typed on it. I stumbled on that typed paper not long ago. It was evident that all was invited to engage in worship. Th at was then. I welcome you to look at the screen now, watch and listen to the announcements.

One evening while awaiting the service to begin at a church I was visiting, I found myself looking at a class-mate and giving God thanks for them. I then began to focus on myself and Gods will for my life only to hear Him reveal to me that a move was necessary, with such clarity I thought this is it and began planning my next move. I knew exactly where I was heading. God I said if this is what youre saying I am going to call the church (TOP) tomorrow. Let someone answer the phone right away, God if this is your will, cause someone to be there to relay a message, cause someone to speak with me. Cause, cause, cause, making a long story short God made it happen. I believed He knew my heart also. My experience was limited in this area and at that time after one phone call I probably would have never called again. I believe that previous visit in the nineties was just a set up.

Once in the fellowship, in new surroundings I thank God for the Holy Spirits presence. Today, I can truly say Ive experienced much and have

shall be trampled under the authority of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We declare that we are a praising and worshipping church. A people whose praise creates such a stir in the heav-enliness, that God lovingly descends to

inhabit the high, high, high praises we offer up. We confess that we are a love practicing church. We love one another beyond the worlds boundaries of race, social status, political and economic sta-tus. We are a people of one mind and one body in Christ.

  • been challenged more through the Word. I have also grown much in my walk with God. God wants us to be absolutely sure of who we are and who He is; nothing or no one must cause us to change our minds as far as God is concerned. Th e faith that I have now causes me to marvel. In the past I spoke faith and possessed some faith, and encouraged others to trust God. However, the degree of faith that I must walk in was not what I possessed. I must not only know about, and talk about, and share the meaning of faith with others but I must grow in grace and from faith to faith. I must live in the dimension the Lord desires for me.

Ive got a faith now that is not easily shaken, because I believe God is in control. Faith allows me to be who God wants me to be, faith allows me to stand rm as a rock, faith, allows me to believe God regardless of what it looks like in the natural. I thank God for a faith that will not shrink.

I thank God for His servant in the person of Bishop Eric D. Garnes, who labors in love delivering the word of God to the people of God. Bishop has grown spiritually I dont believe that I am out of order to state this because the world can see.

From my rst time of being part of the fellowship to today I have witnessed major growth and development; a major smear of the anointing on his life. His delivery is supernaturally sound and is delivered with greater vibrancy in a manner that believers and non-believers can understand and make the necessary life application. Th e Omniscient God knew He had a son, a preaching-teaching son, a precious son who would be available to be used mightily by His creator, a son who would praise and worship Him, one who would commune with Him in prayer, a son He can trust, a son He can use for His glory, one who would listen to His voice and follow His directives and instructions for His people

God choose the son to serve Him to the very end. Th is servant never stops sharing the love of God to the people he serves faithfully.

    OCTOBER 2009 CONNECTED 10

We declare and confess that we are a church of strong families. We believe in the institution of marriage established by God. Therefore we rebuke the spirit of divorce in our congregation. We declare no shortage of men in this worship place. We rebuke dysfunctional families and

single parent dilemmas in Jesus name.

Finally, we thank you, for the operation of the fi ve-fold ministry: Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers along with a rising number of Christian workers to serve this growing congregation that

  • As he grows by the very word he preaches he shares with the people. So ministries are growing, leaders are growing and the people are growing in the grace of God, in the things that pertains to God and operating in a spirit of excellence. God continues to send the people to hear His word so that together there will be an even greater revelation of who He is and His mighty works among men.

Bishop Garnes is gripped by God. May we, the people of Tabernacle continue to grow in God as he forever washes us with the word; daily, weekly, monthly and yearly.

May our prayers be honest, sincere, with fervency ascending like incense to Gods nostrils. May our worship be true and without hindrance, and our fellowship at Tabernacle of Praise continue to be sweet and vibrant, and our awareness of His presence heightened.

We have gown at di erent times, stages and di erent seasonsAll together it is the Lords doing and it is marvelous at the time Bishop E. D. Garnes delivered this word, I knew God was up to something. Th is was supernaturally declared. We saw growth and change and the Glory of God.

What a season for the entire Tabernacle of Praise ministries!

To the Most Reverend Bishop Eric D. Garnes and the rst Lady of Tabernacle of Praise, Dr. Delicia Garnes, to the children and the extended family may He who has caused you to prosper in the things of God continue to prosper and strengthen you. God bless you!

  • ornIn my third year of attending the New York Th eological Seminary, one of the courses I was

taking was Supervised Ministry. Th is is a course where you are to go out and spend at least two years in a Church of a di erent Denomination from where you originally fellowship or where you are presently a member. For me I rst saw Bishop Garnes when he came for a class at the seminary, all eyes were on him. Th e next time was when Pastor Boyd had Th e Prayer for New York, this short concentrated man step forward in a serious Blue suit and shades and put down a serious prayer. Th e third time was at a funeral at the church I was attending. Frank R. Bell Funeral Home was responsible for the going home service. I had the opportunity to speak with Bishop brie y and we talked about where we saw each other. He took the time to explain about his church, Tabernacle of Praise, and that they would be celebrating Manna from Heaven. I couldnt go because that was the week the seminary has our retreat. But God is so good. When it was time to do my internship at a di erent church I had the card that Bishop had given me. So I asked Rev. Ivey to make the call to see if I could do my Internship at Tabernacle of Praise. After Deacon Norris spoke to Bishop about me coming to do my internship, history was made.

I am so amazed at what I have learned at Tabernacle through the Leadership of this young man. I know what worship and praise is OCTOBER 2009 CONNECTED 12

  • all about. I understand that in spite of, you must show compassion towards people especially if you are following the example of the leader of the House; you must capture the vision. I have also learned to do the best that is in me no matter what the assignment, along with treating everyone with Respect and Love. I believe my gift is helping those who are going through some tough time to be able to encourage and embrace them.

I am happy in the house known as Tabernacle of Praise. Im still growing and learning for its a new season and new day. Th e fresh anointing is already in the house, the Wind of God is resting on Bishop Eric Garnes who is soon to become Th e Most Reverend Dr. Eric D. Garnes. Bishop is still growing, his gifts are amazing. He has such a love for the people of God that you just have to stand back and wonder and say Wow.

When he has to play the role of Father and as he says Clean your clock. he does it with sternness and love at the same time. Some preachers cant do that because they think what God has blessed them with is all about them, when in actuality its about God. God gets the glory for having a son who is the Best among the best, Bishop Garnes. I couldnt imagine worshiping any place else because as Bishop goes higher we the body of Christ go higher with Him.

    (A) Where I am today is no accident - Mordecai, Esthers mentor, challenged her and changed her life by saying, Who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this? Esther didnt set out to be queen, but once she was, she had to decide between her comfort and her calling. Its a choice we all make. Whats my calling? you ask. One thing is certain, when God calls, its your time. Were tempted to think were treading water right now, waiting for some other time or more important opportunity. No, no, no you dont get to choose your time; God does that.

    (B) God does send special people to guide us - Without Mordecai in her life Esther might never have understood her calling. And without his help, she might have never embraced it. So, whos my Mordecai? Who knows me well enough to help clarify my calling? Who loves me enough to challenge me when I get o track, or strengthen me as well as one of my o spring when

He may never know how hes spoken to me and my family in this vein, because its the Holy Ghost he is allowing to work through him on our behalf. Th e top shelf preaching and teaching Bishop Garnes administers each week, to his sheep, keeps those who desire to be kept - fat in the word of God and capable of resisting the devil during their week day struggles.

I know not one of us is a composite of all of lifes virtues; we all have blind spots and weaknesses. Th ats why God sends others and why we need them! In closing, Im still so grateful I waited on Gods direction to be at the right place. Evangelist Ingrid Figueroa invited my family to worship with her at her secret church on a Fathers Day Sunday in June 2005 and the rest is history. After being well fed with manna from heaven and well watered with the Word of God, for we had been experiencing a spiritual draught, the Francis family eagerly joined Tabernacle of Praise in autumn of that same year. We are rooted, grounded, well watered and GROWING (Ps.1:3).

    Out of the Heart

Make a joyful noise unto God, all ye lands: Sing forth the honor of his name, make his praise glorious. Ps. 66 v. 1-2.

As we congratulate our Bishop on the o ce of Presiding Prelate of the United Covenant Churches of Christ, International, we recognize that our Leader is a worshipper and a man of praise. Let us honor him by following his example and saturate our establishment with praise at all times. In other words when he praise, we praise should be our desire and we should not wait to be prompted or coerced into lifting our hands, opening our mouths or clapping our hands.

We the people of Tabernacle of Praise are called to be praisers according to our name. We are on a fast climb to Higher Ground, and our enemies are multiplied so we have to intensify our warrior stance. We will clap our hands, move our hips and loosen our lips all to the glory of Jesus Christ. for when the praises go up the blessings come down.

Practice makes perfect so we must get our praise on at all times. Praise must be a part of our dressing each day; we will put on the garment of praise. We will endeavor to be partakers of praise and not onlookers. Th ese are my thoughts on the subject.

  • A Psalmist Speaks: Exploring Worship through the eyes of a Levite

Topic: The Praise Team (Part I)

So you want to be on the praise team? You want to be a Worship Leader? Ok then, let me ask you a few questions. Do you have what it takes? Can you sing? Do you attend church regularly? Do you pay your tithes & offerings and participate in the service? Are you a born leader or team player? Do people tell you that they like your spirit, that youre pretty or handsome or that you have a wonderful voice? Do you know scriptures and read the word at least three times a week? Are you doing well so far?

Great, lets continue. Do you watch the praise team week after week and know that you can do what they do or even do it better? Have you ever thought or felt that they would sound much better if you were up there? Have you wanted to sing on a praise team for as long as you can remember? Do you learn the words to all the songs and have a list of songs they should sing? Did you take music in school? Have you picked

    OCTOBER 2009 CONNECTED 18

  • out your seat in the front row, which microphone is yours and what youll wear the fi rst time you perform with the praise team? Youre on your way! Uh Well, not quite yet

Lets answer the next few questions honestly. Do you really want/desire to be on the praise team? Is it a passion? Are you called to Levitical service? Is this area of ministry your gifting? Has God called you to this area of ministry? One who has this gifting and is truly called to this area of ministry by God, doesnt have to seek out admittance on a praise team. See, your gifts will always make room for you. If God gave it to you, He will open every door necessary so that your gifts will be utilized in the tabernacle; so that souls can be won, healed and transformed. Thereby fulfi lling the ultimate goal, that God and God alone be glorifi ed, worshiped and praised. You must be very careful what you ask for though. This area of ministry is quite challenging. You will become target practice for Satan and his imps. Think youre going through now wait until you become a member of a praise team. Youd better be prepared to fi ght in the spirit! Still want to be on the praise team? Ok. Keep reading.

The life of a Levite, worship leader and praise team member requires great personal sacrifi ce. It requires a life dedicated to pursuing a deeper, intimate, more personal relationship with your heavenly Father 24/7; a life purposed to being a vehicle used to lead others to a higher place in worship, through your ability to worship. (Well explore this area a little deeper next time.) The responsibility of the minstrel is more than singing, playing instruments, and dancing unto the Lord. It is about building a place for the presence of God to change, rearrange and restore. You must be able to minister until the power of God falls and brings healing, salvation and deliverance. Oh, you thought it was just about your ability to sing and perform? That is a small portion of what you need but church is not a vehicle for us to present our talents and catapult us into Christian Stardom. Youve got to love the Lord more than your gifts. You must become a dwelling place for His presence, an extravagant worshiper and praiser. You must be souled out completely to service in this area of ministry not just by a lifting of hands and bowing of heads, but a total submission of your spirit. It requires discipline to keep your focus on the Lord. Ps. 75:6-7. Be faithful with what He has put in your hands and remember, in the end, its not about you Its all about Jesus.

Summer With the Prophets Part I

    By Sis. Moniquea McClean

  • Th e rst thing you need to know is that the prophets and I go back way back. Back to the summer of 2008 to be exact! I was minding my own business, as I usually am when the Lord speaks revelation to me, and he told me to read the book of Hosea. Totally changed my life! Th e Lord began to reveal to me how he was Hosea and the Church (we His people) was like the harlot Hosea married. No matter how good Hosea was to his wife, she still cheated and cheated and cheated. No matter how good the Lord is to us we always nd an idol that takes up our time, money and resources. Hosea got angry rebuked his wife but loved her too much to let her destroy herself. In the same manner the Lord deals with us and if we are truly in love with Christ, we always nd our way back to the arms of the Lord.

On June 1, 2009, I had no idea what I was to endure that month or the rest of the summer. I walked into work feeling like I wish I was anywhere but here (dont act like Im the only one!) and the Holy Spirit whispered to me read the book of Haggai. I thought to myself, what an odd request. I know Haggai is an Old Testament minor prophet but I had no idea where the book was located. So I did what we 21st century young people do; I Googled it! After learning about who Haggai was, I printed out the 2 chapters of his prophecy and said I would read it during my lunch break after I ran some errands.

So on my lunch break I ran my errands, talked to friends on the phone and 15 minutes before I had to head back to work I sat down with my printed chapter of the book of Haggai. I cleared my mind and prepared my heart to receive what the Lord had to tell me or show me. Th e book of Haggai begins like this: 1 In the second year of King Darius, in the sixth month, on the rst day of the month, the word of the LORD came by Haggai the prophet to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, saying, 2 Th us speaks the LORD of hosts, saying: Th is people says, Th e

  • time has not come, the time that the LORDs house should be built. First thing I need you to do is go back to the paragraph before this one and read the rst sentence! What date did I tell you I received this revela-tion?? Now read the beginning of the book of Haggai again. My draw dropped!! Th e Lord had me to read on June 1st, 2009 a revelation that was given on June 1st in the 2nd year of King Darius!! I was completely humbled.

Ill get back to the date but I really want to focus on the revelation. Verse 2 says Th is people says, Th e time has not come, the time that the Lords house should be built. I knew He was telling me about building the temple but whos temple Lord. Is not your body the temple of the Living God, he whispered?? You dont feel like anyone is encouraging you to edify yourself but 3 then the word of the LORD came by Haggai the prophet, saying, 4 Is it time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses, and this temple[a]to lie in ruins? Th e home you live in looks really nice, Moniquea. You are slowly but surely making it into your own space. But how could you x up your physical home and not the home (the temple, your spirit) that the Holy Spirit dwells in? Regardless of what other people say, it is time that the Lords house should be built! Needless to say my jaw was still down and tears were owing from my eyes!

Lord, Im sorry was all I could think to say! I read through the book of Haggai and headed back to my job to ponder His words to me. Ill share more of the revelation because it even extends to the Tabernacle but let me ask you a question. Had the Lord given you a revelation like He gave me, on practically the same time line it was written in the Word, how would you react? Many people would think it was a coincidence or something spooky. But I want to know what the Blood washed think. God is speaking to us in the same manner he spoke to the people and prophets during biblical times. He is the same God yesterday, today, and tomorrow! I just dont think we listen to that still

  • small voice often enough to get a revelation or in my case a warning.

Th is article is only Part 1 of a series I intend to write but I want to share with you the last words the Holy Spirit said to me before I went back to work. Th e moral of the story is Be strong and work! Th is summer is not going to be easy for you but I need you to be strong and work! I am closer to you when you dont feel me. Trust and know that Id never leave you, just be strong and work! Will it be hard? Will you fee like giving up? Will you cry everyday? Yes, be strong and work! Two days later the transmission on my vehicle died. To repair a transmission is expensive! Practically the cost of a new car! On top of not having the resources to x it, it rained every single day that my van was out of commission! I live in Far Rockaway, my daughters daycare is in Richmond Hill (30 minute drive from my home) and I have to be at work in Manhattan for 8 AM. But, the Lord had already prepared me and my way out!

In the name of Jesus, I declare that Gods desire for me is to prosper fi nancially.
