Simon Boocock, Managing Director at C. R. Laurence of Europe Ltd is proud to announce that the company continues to expand its team across Europe with two key appointments.

Dominik Hinzen has been appointed Managing Director of C. R. Laurence of Europe GmbH, with its headquarters based in Ilsfeld, Germany. The subsidiary supplies CRL products to the German market as well as all countries of mainland Europe and its additional service centre in Copenhagen, Denmark.

In his new position, Dominik is responsible for the operative and strategic management of the company, and for the development of the brand which has been established in Europe since 2009. The long-standing Branch Manager Harald Brinkmann will furthermore be responsible for the seamless management of the Ilsfeld-based site which has 40,000 sq/ft of warehouse and offices, ensuring outstanding Customer Service, continuous product availability and responsive despatches of customer orders.

After his studies of Business Management Dominik Hinzen worked for five years in Marketing and Communications for a manufacturer of building hardware and locking systems. In 2006 he became Marketing Director for Bohle AG in Haan and from 2012 he served as a Sales & Marketing Director for Germany.

Kjellmar Gusdal joins CRL as Area Sales Manager for Norway. In his new position Kjellmar is responsible for the development of sales in the Norwegian market as well as providing greater levels of customer service. Kjellmar has been working in the glass industry for 35 years in a variety of roles covering sales, marketing and management positions at Pilkington Group, Norway.

Simon commented “I am delighted that both Dominik and Kjellmar have joined the company. They bring a wealth of experience from the glass industry and they will further strengthen our already well established European business. There will be further appointments in the weeks and months to come.”

CORE PRODUCTS COMBINE WITH NEW INNOVATIONS AT FIT SHOW

CRL made the most of its 88 square metre stand at the FIT Show, with visitors keen to learn more about its range of glass balustrade systems, door hardware, shower door hardware, architectural tools, and glazier accessories.

The stand showcased a total of 23 displays, with new innovations sitting alongside the company’s core products and grabbing the attention of installers and fabricators. An area of particular interest was the CRL Juliette Balcony Rail System, with its ease of installation and sleek, clean design making it popular among the show’s visitors.

The system comprises a 48mm diameter cap rail to secure the glass in position and four balcony connectors. Manufactured from 316 grade stainless steel, the juliette balcony system is available in a choice of a brushed or polished stainless steel, with a modern design and sleek, clean lines.

A further highlight of the stand was the company’s array of shower hinges, now available in a wide choice of finishes, including matte black. This is the latest finish to be added to the range, introduced in response to trends in interior design. A full range of shower hardware is available in this finish, for a coordinated look throughout the bathroom.

Live demonstrations of the company’s glass detectors also took place throughout the show. CRL’s large selection of glass detectors includes 13 models ranging from a conductive coating detector and metric scale glass thickness laser, through to the “Glass Chek Elite”, with an array of features such as easy identification of glass, spacer and thickness of laminate inner-layer and up to quad pane windows.

Finally, CRL also introduced its new Multi-purpose MS-polymer Sealant and Adhesive (MSP290) which has excellent adhesion to most non-porous surfaces such as glass, quartz, ceramic, aluminium, plastic, and many others. It is a high quality, durable and flexible adhesive sealant based on hybrid technology for both interior and exterior applications. MSP290 is available in clear, black and white, and can be painted with most paints. The solvent and cyanide free sealant can also be used safely in food preparation areas and cold storage. It bonds to damp surfaces and it is resistant to mould, making it the ideal sealant for the bathroom.

OFFICE PARTITION SYSTEMS FROM CRL

MAXIMUM TRANSPARENCY...With the aesthetic appeal of "all-glass" architecture, the feeling of openness created by large glazed walls, and the need for more light that gives the impression of a larger space, office wall partition systems have become more and more popular.

With its Office Partition Systems, CRL offers a creative and effective solution for modern interior designs. The standard dry-glazed system provides a maximum transparency and an elegant appearance thanks to its thin, powder-coated profiles available in a satin anodised or brushed nickel finish. The profiles can be fixed to ceilings, floors, walls and door frames for a complete look, are suitable for 8 to 16 mm monolithic toughened glass or laminated glass and are supplied with EPDM fixing gaskets available in black or grey.

Enhanced sound insulation - OFFICE XL

With its many benefits, this trend for an all-glass look can lack sound insulation, which can be a real issue in busy buildings where quiet areas are necessary. In this situation CRL’s Office Partition Systems variation “Office XL“ can also accomodate insulating glass of 28mm thickness for a fixed glass panel sound insulation of up to 42 dB (decibel level achieved). "Our Office Partition Systems are

perfectly suitable for an all-glass appearance in both offices and homes, whether end-users‘ priority is transparency, light or sound insulation", explains Simon Boocock, Managing Director at CRL.

The well thought out system makes its installation simple and reduces the installation time required. For example the height of hinged-doors can easily be adjusted, glass fabrication is not required, and the doors can be installed in mounted ceiling profiles in wall-to-glass or glass-to-glass applications. Even floor-to-ceiling doors can be mounted, if desired. CRL offers a choice of high-quality door hinges, latches, and handle sets to complete the installation.

To help with glass panel installation, CRL offers a Vacuum Ratchet Tensioning Kit (G0284) that enables the glass panels to be easily placed and pulled together.

Glass-clear joints

As it is a dry-glazed system it doesn‘t require the use of a silicon sealant – from the laborious task of placing the silicon without excess to avoiding the creation of bubbles. Instead CRL offers glass-clear and durable joints made of polycarbonate (CL0NXX). The joints clip on the glass and are suitable for 180 degree, 135 degree and 90 degree abutment joints, T-connections, and corner joints. The practical, invisible joints for our Office Partition Systems emphasize the impression of maximum transparency in interior design
