THE BRIEF

To create an identity for the photographer, Jenny Sneap. Her works leans toward fashion, live events, gig venues and performance, in her own words her work has an air of subtlety.

DESIGN RESPONSE

The project had to include a range of promotional materials that could be easily reproduced by Jenny if she needed to. Deliverables included a mailout that housed her compliment slip, business card, cv and a print. The prints themselves are postcards that double up as a portfolio

when in context with the solander box, used for presenting to clients. All products were black foil blocked to give a sense of subtley and intrigue that reflects Jenny’s work.

THE BRIEF

To create an identity for the bar, Escobar. The bar would be undergoing renovation and needs a fresh new logo, with supporting poster to help promote the venue.

DESIGN RESPONSE

The project was a very short one, but paid well. The response from the client was excellent and has led to more design work concerning gig posters and flyer design for the venue. The primary concern was the logo, which was rather simple, since the design had to

be able to transfer onto a stamp for entry on gig nights.

THE BRIEF

To create a range of deliverables to accompany the Elder Scrolls’ book of lore: 2920 - Last Year of the First Era.

DESIGN RESPONSE

The Elder Scrolls is rich with it’s own lore and history that is similar to the Roman Empire. The book is a chronicle of events that marked a paradigm shift in the franchise and brought about a new age. Content was derived from reliable sources and various paragraphs were added to

make the story clearer and more concise. The franchise itself has a large fanbase, which makes the brief desirable for collectors and popular amongst bloggers. This brief was part of a submission for BA(Hons) Graphic Design in third year.

PRODUCT RANGE

The various deliverables were designed to support the content of the book and add exclusivity to the project as a whole. There is a treaty, an assassin’s writ of sealing and a map. All of the products were screen printed and foil blocked using traditional methods.

THE BRIEF

To illustrate a range of covers for the Times’ monthly science supplement, Eureka. This project was driven by vector illustrations, data handling and layout.

DESIGN RESPONSE

Eureka is known for it’s infographics, striking visuals and playful illustrations to explain complex stories and ideas to their audience. The overarching theme of Eureka is to give science a more active role in our society, which was the foundation of the brief’s concept. The areas of science

that were promoted are; neuroscience, genetics, animal psychology, astrophysics and nanotechnology. The special edition newspapers were produced to shock the everyday reader and create a dialogue with other readers, encouraging them to discuss the importance of science.

THE BRIEF

Create a brand for the band, Humble Scoundrel. The band evokes blues roots with a new wave sound, so the design had to reflect this and work across merchandise.

DESIGN RESPONSE

The final illustration was a mash up of hand rendered type and the band’s concept.Using a victorian-esque approach to the visuals of a typical scoundrel, helped to resolve this brief.T shirts were printed, along with an ep that will be released in early 2014.
