Following a world premiere at Melbourne’s Federation Square earlier this year, internationally renowned artist Simon Wilkinson brings this broodingly atmospheric live AV performance to Brighton Digital Festival. The Sound of the Wind in the Trees features haunting large screen projections and a live soundtrack of reverb drenched retro electronic instruments, programming loops and effects with classical strings from musical quartet Collectress, all built around a collection of edited poignant interviews with older people about how they make sense of our common human predicament: that we are standing on a ball which is floating through space. // Intitial funding from: There will be a POST-SHOW Q&A, free to ticket holders.

Tunng

Bands as emotive and enduring as Tunng don’t come around too often. Across their decade together, the group have honed their pastoral pop to perfection, winning over audiences and critics one rustic twang of guitar, icy electronic echo and sumptuous whisper of vocals at a time to become one of Britain’s most championed underground forces – fitting for an act who began literally underground, in the basement of a Soho women’s clothing boutique some ten years ago. // Turbines [2013]: “a nuanced album” Guardian “warm, welcoming” TimesSupport: Pinunoizu.
