Tokodai Open is an annual Badminton exhibition, held by Indonesian Student Association of Tokyo Institute of Technology (Persatuan Pelajar Indonesia – Tokodai). The

competition is open for anyone, any age, any gender, and any nationality. It wasn’t a super-prestige competition; more like family event – a means to expand your

network and friendship.

Starts off with registration for seeding, and also for lunch reservation :D

Opening ceremony – singing Indonesian national anthem, Indonesia

Raya, with the help of iPhone and loud speaker

There were 8 courts, with two “official” photographers, so we divide them into two areas. These are the players who played their first round on my “area”

Tokodai Open is not a professional event, it doesn’t have dedicated officials. Every players will take turns to be the Umpire and the line judges. Of

course, they will also ‘take turn’ to be the spectators.

And, since this is a family event, It is okay to take your son when you are umpiring…

… who then got bored rather easily. Poor boy :D

Photographers are working hard, get into weird positions, to capture

the action.

Here comes the final matches (for three categories)

Page 14: Tokodai Open 2011

Women’s Single Final, won by the lady on the left. If I’m not wrong, this is her second year in a row

Page 15: Tokodai Open 2011

Men’s Single Final, won by the guy on the left, after defeating 2009’s winner (the guy on the right)

Page 16: Tokodai Open 2011

Men’s Double Final was a bit anti-climax. There were times when it went literally 1 vs 2 – and 1 won

Page 17: Tokodai Open 2011

As expected, the match won by the guys on the right. The guy on the far right is actually last year Men’s Single winner

After all the fun, here comes the less exciting part: cleaning up the place
