WHO WAS HE?

Todorov was a Bulgarian linguist and contributed a lot to narrative theory after publishing his works after the 1960s. His theory suggested that stories have certain states in which they progress to during the course of the film.

THE THEORY OF EQUILIBRIUM

1. A state of equilibrium (all is as it should be).

2. A disruption of that order by an event.

3. Recognition of this disruption by the characters.

4. An attempt to repair the damage and restore equilibrium.

5. A new equilibrium, maybe a bit different.
