V 2 “On the first day of every week…”

Attitude and motive concerning money

Love says, “O Father, you’ve given me so much already. In Jesus You have given me a reason for living. And now I can trust You to supply every need at just the right time. How can I give you enough.”

Greed says, “I don’t really think I can afford to give this. But if the odds are better than 50/50 I’ll get it all back and more, I’ll try it.”

(“Where are you God?” John Oswalt, pg. 133 par. 3)

V 2 “set aside a sum of money…,”

I cannot afford to tithe

Faulty statement!

Don’t give God the leftovers!

Honor the LORD from your wealth and from the first fruits of all your crops; Prov. 3:9

V 7 “…in keeping with your income.”

The New Testament does not require a tithe?

Grace is above the Law??

V 7 “…in keeping with your income.”

Does God bless when we give out of sincere motives?

“But above all pursue his kingdom and righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matt. 6:33 NET Bible

Attitude effects consistency in giving/tithing, be group three in your attitude which says, “It’s all Gods and He shares with me.”

If you wait to the end to budget your giving or tithing to the church, God will get left out.

Jesus gave the requirement of the law, and then gave the requirement of grace – grace was always a higher expectation.
