We made labels for each fiber. The labels show the PMT’s number corresponding to the fiber.

This lable means: east side # inside # 43

2 layers of ‘protective tube’ are used, it’s very strong now.

We made a special tool to put the fibers in the tube.

The full length of fiber is protected, except for the beginning of it (1.5m left). After we install the fiber, the beginning of fiber will be protected too.

The red tape is for warning, not for fixationWe’ve ordered some labels with warning. We’ll put the labels on it too.

We’ve checked every fibers in TOF Lab (if dirty, we cleaned it).

The hall is too crowded and dirty,so we decide that we clean the fibers in Lab.

The caps are not very dirty. We found most of fibers are clean.

Anyway, we’ll check the fibers again when we install them.

We’ve tried to install two fibers tonight (one is shown). Almost perfect, but whenwe tried to tie the fiber on PMT, it’s a little difficult to do that, since a tape is on the way.

White tape

This tape is for cable installation, but not very important.I’ve discussed with Zhijia, and he told me that we can remove it.

1) Today we checked 8 bundles, and put 4 bundles in the protective tube (2 layers).

2) We made labels for each fibers.

3) We installed two fibers, and we’ll test these two fibers installation tomorrow. (when we finished the installation, it’s almost 9:30 pm).

For fiber installation, everything goes smoothly.

They made a new schedule today.11.7~11.10 east side, fiber and cable installation.11.11~11.20 west side, fiber and cable installation.11.21~11.23 laser box, distribution box installation.11.26~12.1 install the east side of endcap TOF(including fibers installation).…

So we have 4 days to install the east side fibers. And we can waite until Marc comeback to install the laser box.

But I have to go to HAWAI’I in December, and we’ll install the east side of endcap TOFin December. What should I do? I didn’t book my ticket yet.
