You have received a ballot this morning at check in. Please fill it out, place it in the envelope provided, write your name legibly on the envelope, and turn it in at the Info Booth be- fore 6:00 PM. We need your name on the envelope so we can know that only members are voting. Ballots are removed from envelopes before tal- lying. Please vote! Committee Corner e Holiday Market Committee met this week. ey fully reviewed the Holiday Market schedule and Rules and Regulations. ey are rec- ommending that building now be open from noon to 7 pm on load in days instead of opening at 2 pm and closing at 9. ey disallowed the hanging of signs and products from booth parts that overhang the aisle. ey confirmed the deadline to re- turn your Holiday Market applica- tions to maintain booth holder of record status as August 1. Applica- tions will be either mailed or handed out at Saturday Market in early July. ey decided to continue the Art Bag giveaway on the first weekend. ey continued their design discus- sion on a new backdrop for the stage and they hope to decide on a design at their August meeting. e next meeting is the Stan- dards Committee meeting this Wednesday, June 18 at 4, they will discuss kits. Some Reminders on Policy: We do not cash checks for change. We will cash checks at the end of the day, provided we are able. You may also sign over customers’ checks as your payment. However, if a check is returned, you will need to pay the market back plus a $5 bounced check charge. Smoking is prohibited at the Market, this includes e-cigarettes. If you do an order for a customer but the transaction takes place at the market, you still need to pay your 10% to the Market for that sale. Market fees must be paid by the end of the day on Wednesday in or- der for the point to show the follow- ing Saturday. Imagine you want to buy some shoes and you get to Sears at 8:30 knowing they are open until 9. e store is open, but folks at the shoe department are obviously closing down and not interested in helping you. Are you confused? Aggravated? Do you presume the whole store is closing early? Do you tell all your friends about your negative experi- ence? Most likely. Do you go back another time? Maybe not. Your per- ception of the whole store gets dam- aged by the action of one depart- ment. Saturday Market’s advertised hours are 10 - 5. Customers expect to be able to shop until 5. Tourists expect the event to be happening until 5. Even though your booth is your individual store, because you are a member of the Market, your store hours are 10 -5. rectors election takes place today. There are four Market members run-ning for three Board positions. You have received a ballot this morning at check in. The second annual Create! Eugene arts festival is a month-long celebration that will run in August. It aims to showcase a wide range of hands-on creative workshops and other arts happenings. Artists are encouraged to plan arts workshops and promote them on the Create! Eugene website. Individuals can also post existing arts workshops and events that are scheduled during the month of August. A wide range of artistic disciplines are invited to participate. August arts events should be submitted to the Create! Eugene website by June 15. Listed workshops will be promoted  to artists of all abilities and to the public at large.
