Think of your top two study tactics you currently use well and discuss your approach with your partner. Ex. The day after learning new material, I review my notes and create my own flash cards to quiz myself on the way to school.
10 Study Tips 1. Use your planner to note any long-term projects that are due. Anticipate long term assignments
by breaking it into parts so you are not spending an entire Sunday cramming to get it all done. 2. Put any key terms/highlighted words onto flashcards with the definition on the back and use the
5-at-a-time method 3. You may think that you can multitask, but it has been proven that students who do this get lower
grades so keep homework separate from Facebook, Text Messaging, etc. 4. Write down every assignment even if your teacher regularly uses Edline. 5. Turn in all homework assignments on time. This will greatly impact your grade. 6. Have a buddy in each of your classes that you can contact if you need clarification on an
assignment. 7. Get help from your teacher when you do not understand something. It is your responsibility to
understand all that you are taught. Teachers want to help you! 8. Pack your backpack the night before making sure you have your charged iPad, and all
completed assignments. Review the planner Sunday evening to review the schedule and activities for the week.
9. Look at all of your “to dos” to gauge the time requirement and plan accordingly. 10. Study in a quiet, distraction-free environment while using the “timer method.”
