TODAY!! Pancakes & Perennials - Plainfield...

The PUMC Cycling Group will be hitting the roads and bike paths of northern Illinois again this summer, and we are always eager to have new participants! Our weekend rides are meant to be casual and fun, with a typical distance around 20 miles and a pace of 12-13 mph. As in past years, we will be participating in Chicago's Bike the Drive on May 29th, and there's still time to get registered. We also are training for a daylong ride from Plainfield to Wisconsin on July 8th, with camping that night at Big Foot Beach State Park in Lake Geneva. For more information on being part of this group, contact Eric Lenning at 636-577-1774 or [email protected]. Thank you to everyone who helped make the 7 th Annual MEM Children’s Resale a tremendous success… those people who donated, sold, shopped, volunteered, baked, and/or spread the word! Because of YOU, we sold more than $8,000 in children’s items and almost $100 in baked goods! Of the $2,400 MEM earned from the sale, over $900 will be tithed to PUMC apportionments. The remainder will help support future sales and other MEM projects. Thank you for your continued support of this community event. SUNDAY SCHOOL END-OF-YEAR PARTY! Join us today, during Sunday School hour, as we celebrate the end of the 2015-16 school year and all we have learned together! Classes will rotate through games and a snack station. Carillon Concerts PUMC will host two Carillon Concerts this summer, free and open to the public. The first concert will be Sunday, June 26, with a

performance by Rachel Perfecto from New Haven, CT. She will perform special music during 9:30am worship service and then perform a concert after worship starting at 11:00am. The second concert will be Wednesday, August 3, with a performance by Ellen Dickinson from Hartford, CT. This concert will start at 7pm. Mark your calendars and enjoy these free concerts.

This year’s Bishop’s Appeal to the Northern Illinois Conference is a call to support Rosecrance’s Launch to Life Campaign. Your gift will help in countless ways. A young woman with a substance abuse disorder will be able, through addiction counseling and treatment, to stand on her own two feet. A young man will finally be released from his crisis of addiction and can reconnect with his higher power. Rosecrance will be a guiding light and resource for grieving families —moving them from despair to hope. For 100 years, Rosecrance has been supported by UMC, to bring services to individuals and families dealing with addiction, depression, anxiety, grief, and family issues. If you would like to support this worthy cause, please make your check payable to PUMC, noting that it is intended for the Bishop’s Appeal and drop it in the collection plate by next Sunday. Thank you for your generosity!
