One day Jesus was onHis way to the house of aman whose daughter wasvery ill. As usual, a crowd

followed and pressedaround Him. In the midstof the crowd was a womanwho had been sick for 12years. She had spentevery bit of her

money on doctors,yet the sicknesscontinued.

Desperate, thewoman thought,

Oh, if I could touchJesus, I know I 

would be healed!

Then, seeingJesus afar off, sheanxiously made her

way toward Him. It wasn’teasy to get through themob of onlookers who wereall trying to get as close toJesus as they could, but shewas driven by that thought.She just had to touch Him!

Jesús se dirigía un día a la casade un hombre cuya hija estabagravemente enferma. Como decostumbre, la muchedumbre se

agolpaba en torno a Él y loempujaba. En medio de aquelaluvión de gente se encontrabauna mujer que desde hacía 12años estaba enferma. Se había

gastado hasta elúltimo centavoen tratamientos ,pero el dolor nocesaba.

Desesperada,

pensó: «Ay, silograra tocarlo,sé que mecuraría».

Al ver aJesús de lejos, avanzó

ansiosamente hacia Él. No erafácil abrirse paso entre aquellaturba de mirones que pugnabanpor acercársele. A ella, sinembargo, un solo pensamientola apremiaba: ¡Tenía que tocara Jesús!

Finally she came withinreach, stretched out her hand,and was able to barely touchthe edge of His robe with her

fingertips. Immediately thepain that had plagued her forso long stopped completely.A warm and wonderfulfeeling of health and well-being swept over

her body. She washealed at last!

Jesus pausedfor a moment. Hehad felt healingpower pass fromHim. He asked,“Who touched

Me?”

“With this

crowd pressing around You,”

His disciples replied, “Youask who touched You?”

But Jesus already knewwho had touched Him. Heturned to the astonishedwoman. She fell at His feet

and told Him her story.

Por fin llegó cerca de Él y,extendiendo la mano, alcanzó arozar Su manto con la punta delos dedos. Apenas lo tocó, cesó

por completo el dolor quedesde hacía tantos años laaquejaba. Una sensación desalud y bienestar le recorrió elcuerpo. Por fin se había curado

Jesús se

detuvo,percibiendo queuna energíasanadora habíaemanado de Él.Preguntó: -¿Quién me hatocado?

Susdiscípulos

respondieron: -Con semejante

multitud que te rodea,preguntas: «¿Quién meha tocado?»

Pero Jesús, sabiendo yaquién lo había tocado, se volvióa la mujer. Ella se postró a los

pies de Jesús y le contó lo quehabía sucedido.

Él le dijo: -Hija, tu fe te hasanado. Ve en paz y quedalibre de tu enfermedad.

La mujer no se curó

porque tocó las vestiduras deJesús, sino porque tuvo fe. Esprobable que hubiera cientosde personas en aquella

multitud,muchas de

las cualesseguramentetambiénnecesitabancuración. La

diferenciaentre aquellamujer y losdemás es que

ella creyó en su corazón queJesús la podía ayudar y actuó

conforme a su fe. Y en elmomento en que hizo contactocon Él, fue sanada.

“Your faith has made you

whole,” He told her. “Go in

peace and be healed of yourdisease.”

Touching His clotheshadn’t made her whole— herfaith had. There wereprobably several hundredpeople in thatcrowd, and surely

many others alsoneeded healing.What set thiswoman apart fromthem was that she

believed with allher heart that Jesuscould help her, soshe acted on herfaith. And the instant shemade contact with Him, she

was wonderfully healed.
