School Age Care ProgramOpen Registration for Summer

Camp is now open. Visit www.military childcare.com. The Youth Center offers a full day camp during the summer. Our Summer Camp provides a safe, supervised, healthy, and age appropriate environment for children ages 5 - 12. Programming provides activities that complement the school year. The program philosophy is that school age children grow and develop best in a supportive, interesting, and adult supervised environment. Care reserved on a week by week basis and fees are based on total family income.

entation Class This will be required to rent one of our Tahoe Ski Boat or Jet Skis. We’ll cover proper launch-ing, trailering, safety requirements, and safe operation of the watercraft. There’s no fee for this program. The orientation will be held at the Curt

Gowdy boat ramp area at noon on May 22, May 27, and June 5. The ori-entation will be at the same location at 4 p.m. on June 30. Note: All dates are subject to change due to a variety of factors including, but not limited to, Wyoming weather and watercraft availability.

June 4, FREE Fishing Day Na-tional Fishing and Boating Week is a national celebration of fishing and boating, an event that highlights the importance of recreational boating and fishing in enhancing our quality of life and preserving our country’s natural beauty. This year the event will take place from June 4 - 12. Wyo-ming’s FREE fishing day this year is June 4. Feel free to go by the Base Lake and introduce your family to the sport. Outdoor Rec can rent the equipment you need if you don’t have your own. Licenses are not necessary this day only.

June 4-5, Hanging Lake Hiking Trip Join us for an epic beginning to your summer outdoor activities as we hike, explore and photograph one of Colorado’s hidden gems. Fee is $50 per person and includes transporta-tion, all park entrance and camping fees. You are responsible for your own food.

June 5, Sunset Trail Ride Bear Creek Lake Park is known for its natu-ral habitat, preserves and wildlife. We’ll enjoy an early evening trail ride and experience mule deer, coyote and foxes, a large population of red tailed hawk and even a pair of bald eagles who visit the park each year. Mini-mum age on trail rides is 8 years of age. Trip fee of $50 covers transpor-tation and horseback ride. Note: This trip will return after dark on Sunday night. (Boulder Outdoor Center)

June 7, Tuesday Climbing Club Avid climber with no one to belay you? Want to help design new routes and rearrange holds? New to climb-ing completely? Want a great way to bond with your partner/family? Rock Climbing might be for you! June 10, Bike N Brew Our first ride of this summer’s Bike N Brew se-ries! We will leave Outdoor Recreation. 110 East Plaza, at 5:30 p.m. Bring your bike or ride one of ours. This will be a no-drop ride of approximately 10 miles before arriving at Freedom’s Edge Brewing Co. Participation is FREE, but the beer is on you!

June 11 - 12, Raft the Arkansas River with USAFA (Big Horn Sheep Canyon Class III-IV Rapids). Escape the summer heat and go rafting with us on the Arkansas River, the most rafted river in the United States! Expect a fun, wet day as you paddle through challenging rapids under the guidance of your expert guide. Our family class rafting trips are great for first timers, groups of varying ex-perience, kids and family/squadron fun. Class III for most of the season, Bighorn Sheep may have a few class IV rapids in early season. Keep your eyes open for the bighorn sheep the canyon is named for. This trip is fun for all ages. These trips are participa-tory activities, meaning that you must paddle. The full-day trip is perfect for fit, adventurous people looking for a challenge and extra adventure. Mini-mum age of 8 to participate. Single Airmen price $50, all others $75. This trip will depart from the new Outdoor Recreation location EARLY Saturday morning. We’ll be camping near the Royal Gorge. Lunch on Saturday will be provided. Note: All raft trips are subject to change due to a variety of factors including, but not limited to, water levels, safety hazards, weather and age.

June 16-17, Archery Camp Day 1 will be bow setting and basics at the Indoor Archery Range followed by a trip to the Cheyenne Outdoor Complex. Day 2 is a field trip to Curt Gowdy, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. both days. Cost is $65. Bring your lunch. Open to adults and children ages 10 and older.

June 18, Denver Comic Con Denver Comic Con is a 3-day, family-friendly pop culture fan extravaganza, featuring the best in pop culture en-tertainment. There will be over 9000 sq feet on the show floor dedicated to younger and teen fans, where they can learn through creating, listen to their favorite comic artist/writer speak, and feel welcomed in the geek community. June 18, Steamboat Bike Park Adventure (SAIP) The expert trails feature step down rollers, wooden berm/wall ride, large dirt berms, ten-foot wooden ladder step down, step up, rollers and a line of nine table-top dirt jumps in rapid succession. The green trails feature dirt berms, banked turns and wooden slat and ladder bridges. A Bike Access Ticket is required to access the Steamboat Bike Park downhill trails open dur-ing gondola operations, as well as utilize the Gondola for bike uplift. The resort will rent top of the line Spe-cialized and Kona freeride bikes, as well as freeriding armor and apparel. $100 includes an All Day Pass and a Premium Downhill Bike with pads and a full face helmet. Non-single Airman cost is $160.

June 19, Father’s Day Home Brewing With Outdoor Recreation Are you thinking about getting into brewing but you’re not willing to fork over the money to buy your own gear without knowing what you’re get-ting into? Utilize our equipment to try your hand at brewing! Prior coordina-tion with Outdoor Recreation staff is required if you plan to bring your own gear and just brew with us. Starts at noon, cost is only $15. We’ll be tapping a Keg of New Zealand IPA a former class brewed in March.

June 20 - 24, BRATS CAMP!! *Ages 6-8* Mountain biking, water safety, kayaking, archery, bouldering, and Dutch oven cooking are some of the activities planned for the first BRATS Camp of the summer. Cost for the week is $175.

years old to participate. Single Airmen price $75, all others $100. This trip will depart from Outdoor Recreation EARLY in the morning. Camp over-night near the Royal Gorge. Lunch on Saturday will be provided. Note: All raft trips are subject to change due to a variety of factors including, but not limited to, water levels, safety haz-ards, weather and age.

July 1 - 4, Yellowstone/Grand Teton National Parks Explore two of America’s greatest natural trea-sures! Hike between the awesomely jagged peaks of the Teton Range, cruise the emerald waters of Jenny Lake. Venture through Yellowstone’s wilderness and geothermal wonders, explore magnificent valleys to spot bison, bears, elk, eagles, and coyotes. Peer into the yawning abyss of the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone and witness Old Faithful’s thrilling erup-tions. Yep, we’re gonna do all that and MORE! We’ll be staying in hard sided campers located just a few miles from the south entrance of Yellowstone National Park. Trip fee is TBD, pays for transportation, camping expenses, and park entrance fees. Food is not included.

July 2, Whitewater Kayak Trip This trip will take place on the Pou-dre River. Class II and III rapids will provide excitement while you learn how to kayak the river. Fee is $35 and includes transportation, guide and equipment on your adventure. Bring money for lunch!

first sergeant, chaplain, Airmen and Family Readiness Center, Family Advocacy, Mental Health, Youth

Center or Child Development Center. Proof of
