To this end, the NERM 2013 Organizing Committee is inviting everyone with a creative mind to enter a logo design competition, either as an individual, or as a group of individuals. Prizes will be awarded! The 1st place entry will receive an iPad 2, whereas the 2nd and 3rd place entries will receive a gift certificate, or even a complimentary entrance to the meeting. NERM 2013 Logo Design Competition GUIDELINES

• No specific theme has been selected for NERM 2013; so, the logo should reflect either the general theme of Chemistry, or the site of the meeting, i.e., the City of New Haven (the Elm City), or both. • The acronym ‘NERM 2013’ should appear in the logo. • The acronym ‘ACS’ or the ACS logo should NOT appear in the logo. • The design of the NERM 2013 logo should be scalable:

it should be legible in smaller (e.g., business card or 8.5” x 11” flyer) and larger (poster format) sizes.

• Aspect ratio: square, or horizontal, is preferred. • Font: sans-serif fonts are preferred (e.g., ‘Calibri’, ‘Arial’, or ‘Verdana’). • The NERM 2013 Organizing Committee reserves the right to revise the 1st place entry logo design in order to fit different formats. • Examples of previous and current NERM logos are displayed below, and can be found at the following sites:
