Every morning you would say, “Good Morning Mama, How you feel?” I cannot count how many times a day you would say, “I Love You Mama.” You were never on my heart or gave me any trouble And for that I will always be grateful. It broke my heart to see you go, but God saw you suffering So He came and put His arms around you and whispered, “My Child Suffer No More.” You are now free and at peace. You will always be my baby boy, Love Mama I Am Always With You When I am gone, release me, let me go. I have so many things to see and do. You mustn’t tie yourself to me with too many tears, But be thankful we had so many good years. I gave you my love, and you can only guess How much you’ve given me in happiness. I thank you for the love that you have shown, But now it is time I traveled on alone. So grieve for me a while, if grieve you must Then let your grief be comforted by trust That it is only for a while that we must part, So treasure the memories within your heart. I won’t be far away for life goes on. And if you need me, call and I will come. Though you can’t see or touch me, I will be near And if you listen with your heart, you’ll hear All my love around you soft and clear And then, when you come this way alone, I’ll greet you with a smile and a “Welcome Home.”

Celebration of Life For

Sunrise Sunset August 17, 1955 June 3, 2020

To My Son I want you to know that I appreciate how you were so humble,

You never talked back, and you were respectful. Every morning you would say,

“Good Morning Mama, How you feel?” I cannot count how many times a day you would say,

“I Love You Mama.” You were never on my heart or gave me any trouble

And for that I will always be grateful. It broke my heart to see you go, but God saw you suffering So He came and put His arms around you and whispered,

“My Child Suffer No More.” You are now free and at peace.

You will always be my baby boy,

Love Mama

I Am Always With You When I am gone, release me, let me go. I have so many things to see and do.

You mustn’t tie yourself to me with too many tears, But be thankful we had so many good years. I gave you my love, and you can only guess How much you’ve given me in happiness.

I thank you for the love that you have shown, But now it is time I traveled on alone.

So grieve for me a while, if grieve you must Then let your grief be comforted by trust

That it is only for a while that we must part, So treasure the memories within your heart.

I won’t be far away for life goes on. And if you need me, call and I will come.

Though you can’t see or touch me, I will be near And if you listen with your heart, you’ll hear

All my love around you soft and clear And then, when you come this way alone,

I’ll greet you with a smile and a “Welcome Home.”

Obituary Howard Preston Green, son of Harvey Junior Green and Mary Green

Lindsey, step-son of Andrew Lindsey, was born on August 17, 1955 in

Pittsboro, North Carolina. He quietly went home to be with the Lord on

Wednesday, June 3, 2020.

Howard was educated in the Chatham County School Systems. He

entered Job Corp after graduating from Northwood High School in

Pittsboro, NC in 1974. He was employed at the Plywood Plant for over

30 years until his retirement.

Howard confessed his life to Christ and joined Hanks Chapel now

known as St. Andrews Congregational Church in Pittsboro, NC at an

early age. He remained an active and faithful member until his death.

He loved God, and was a firm believer that all things work for the good

of those that love the Lord.

Howard was known by many as “Preston”, “Quincy”, “Rabbit” and

“Green”. Howard was an avid Duke fan. Almost every day you would

catch him wearing something royal blue and white. He loved supporting

the Northwood Chargers, and attending their football games. Through-

out his years he made many friends, and gave to them his sincere love,

friendship, and loyalty. You would often see him driving through

town giving someone a ride. He loved to help others, and was a very

respectful man. He had a kind spirit and loving smile. He enjoyed

playing cards, fishing, going to the turkey shoot, and eating good food.

His favorite foods were crab legs, steak, and fish. He could out eat

anyone in crab legs. He loved his family, and would do anything for

them. He is and will forever be missed.

He was preceded in death by his father: Harvey Green; his sister: Cara

Dyane Green; his paternal grandparents: Harvey and Ossie Green; his
