Objectives
1. To establish and maintain a 4-H ClubCamp in North Carolina for Negro youth.
2. To provide educational trips and toursfor 4-H Club members based on leader-ship and project accomplishments.
3. To provide scholarships for deserving clubmembers based on record of leadershipand project accomplishments.
4. To provide educational materials, such as,appreciation plaques to be given to friendsand supporters of 4-H Club work, radiotranscriptions, 4-H Club pins, exhibit ma-terials, 4-H caps and “T” shirts.
5. To supplement the 4-H Club programamong Negro youth in North Carolina; tofurther develop the needed skills and tech-niques of rural youth in the art of farmingand home-making; and to appeal to thecitizens of North Carolina for support ofsuch worthwhile activities among Negro4-H youth as are described above.

This is to certify that we, the undersignedincorporators, do hereby associate ourselvesinto a corporation under and by virtue of thelaws of the State of North Carolina, and tothat end do hereby set forth:
1. The name of the corporation is The4-H Club Foundation of North Carolina, Inc.
2. The location of the principal office ofthe corporation is in the City of Greensboro,Guilford County, North Carolina, but it mayhave one or more branch offices and places ofbusiness at other places in the State of NorthCarolina. ’
3. The objects and purposes for which thecorporation is formed are to aid and promote,by financial assistance and otherwise, all typesof educational, recreational and research ac-tivities now undertaken or which hereaftermay be undertaken by 4-H Clubs or otherorganizations for the promotion of agricul—tural advancement among young people, bywhatever name such activities may be known,and to aid and promote any and all types ofeducation and research in the general field ofagriculture within the State of North Caro-lina. -
4. In order to properly prosecute the ob-jects and purposes hereinbefore set out, thecorporation shall have full power to receivedonations, bequests, and devices; to purChase,lease and otherwise acquire and hold and tosell, donate and otherwise dispose of all kindsof property, real, personal and mixed; todonate all or any part of the equipment, ma-terials or other facilities incident to any sucheducation, recreation or research; and gen-erally to do any and all acts and things whichmay be deemed necessary or expedient forthe development, expansion and extension of

education and research in agriculture in theState of North Carolina and the promotion of4-H Club work and similar work in agricul-ture among young people in said State.
5. The corporation is a non-profit, chari-table and educational corporation and has nocapital stock, and its conditions for member-ship are as follows: that members shall in-clude the original members whose names are
' attached thereto and such persons, firms andcorporations as shall meet the terms and con-ditions for membership as prescribed fromtime to time by the By-Laws of the corpora-Hon.
6. The management of the corporationand of its properties shall be vested in a Boardof Directors which shall have full power andauthority from time to time, without theassent or vote of the members, to make, alter,amend and rescind the By—Laws of the cor-poration; to make rules and regulations pre-scribing the terms and conditions formembership in the corporation, and to sell,donate or otherwise dispose of any and allof the property of this corporation, real, per-sonal or mixed, in furtherance of any of theobjects and purpose for which the corpora-tion is formed. The number of Directors ofthe corporation shall be provided for anddetermined by the By-Laws of the corpora-Hon.
7. The period of existence of the corpora-tion is unlimited.
8. No Director of the corporation shallreceive any compensation whatever for or inconnection with his services as such Directoror as an officer of the corporation.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF 4-H CLUB
ACTIVITIES AND ACCOMPLISHMENTS
There is a total of 787 4-H and Y. M. W.Clubs organized for Negro boys and girls witha total enrollment of 46,582 club members.These club members are assisted by 4,770voluntary local leaders. This represents 28,685farm and non-farm homes in 50 counties. As arequirement for 4—H Club membership, eachboy and girl must conduct a farm or homeproject covering some of the activities andenterprises that fit into the farm and homeplan of the individual family. Last year 34,480of these club members carried such projectswhich included poultry, corn production,home gardens, dairying, home beautification,food preparation, food conservation, healthand first aid, etc. ,Four-H work helps develop specific skills of
boys and girls, and this is done through judg-ing teams, demonstration teams, music appre-ciation, recreation, etc., in terms of commu-nity development. Last year 20,000 clubmembers participated in fire and accidentprevention; 28,000 carried health projects,and approximately 22,000 had health exami-nations as a part of their 4—H Club program.Four-H Club members, as a means of develop-ing leadership, participate in the State Camp-ing Program, attend State 4-H Short Courseat A. and T. College, and they are representedin the Regional 4-H Camp for 4-H Clubmembers in the Southeastern States.
