The main lodge includes a dining room overlooking the Hoback River, a spacious living room with a beautiful rock fireplace and a lounge. The quaint saloon hasn’t changed much in 40 years and is located in the main lodge along with a billiard table and great room. Other public areas include a sauna, hot tub, video library and laundry facility. Indoors or out, the Spotted Horse Ranch is an island of peace and quiet.

Enjoy three hearty home-cooked meals each day served family style in the lodge dining room. Our motto is “Quality and Quantity” and many of our guests return simply to relax and enjoy the excellent cuisine. Special diets can be catered to with advance notice; simply instruct our chef and it will be prepared to your liking.

We have two evening cookouts each week during the summer. Our evening cookouts include live entertainment from local talent reminiscent of days gone by when voices were lifted in song around the campfire. Nothing smells better than steaks grilling in the evening followed by roasting marshmallows over an open fire.

Our two camps, Hunter Creek Camp and the Martin Basin Camp, are each outfitted with separate sleeping tents for staff and guests. Accommodating two people per tent, all are heated with wood stoves and feature carpet, cots, pads, nightstands and sleeping bags. You need only bring your camera!

Gourmet Cowboy meals are prepared in historic Dutch Ovens or cooked cowboy style over an open fire and served in our graciously appointed and heated cook tents. After dinner, take a hike through our wilderness where you may see deer, elk or moose as well as beautiful flora throughout the spring and summer. Relax overnight in your private, heated tent or throw your bedroll out under the stars. A hearty cowboy breakfast awaits you in the morning!

Both Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park are short drives from the ranch. The town of Jackson offers and array of activities ranging from stagecoach rides and rodeos to live theatre and nightclubs. For the shopper, Jackson hosts over 30 art galleries, several historic museums and a variety of specialty shops. Jackson also boasts two exquisite golf courses within view of the Tetons.

The experience of ranch life at Spotted Horse is a dramatic departure from the way most people spend their day. The pace is as leisurely or active as your desires dictate. On horseback is the perfect way to explore the thousands of acres of scenic Bridger-Teton National Forest land surrounding the ranch that we ride by permit from the Forest Service. Endless trails will take you through majestic mountains, valleys of wildflowers and along riverbanks accessible only by horseback. You can take a slow, fast, short or long ride and our excellent guides can help you in selecting the perfect horse for your ability. Be sure to bring your camera along.

We have a weekly scenic float trip on the Snake River, and if that sounds too tame a whitewater adventure can be arranged. Other ranch activities include volleyball, ping-pong, square dancing and horseshoes or just relaxing and communing with nature.

You couldn’t pick a finer place to fish than the Spotted Horse Ranch. Fish along the banks of the Hoback (only steps away from your cabin) or take a guided float trip down the Snake, Salt or Green Rivers for a full day’s adventure. Don’t worry about bringing fishing equipment; we are Orvis endorsed and have all you’ll need, including flies, on the ranch. Whether you are a novice or an expert, our experienced guides can help you reel in the big one.
