THE INCEPTION AND THE JOURNEYEstablished in 1969 by Late Sri M. C Varghese, an extraordinary visionary with social commitment and dedication. The Mangalam Group initiated the project of publishing a weekly magazine that would quench the thirst of an average Malay-alee reader. The success of Mangalam weekly marked the dawn of an era in the publishing sector of Kerala, rewriting the publishing history in Asia (circulation of 1.5million in 1984) and established a well reputed house hold name Mangalam in India.

Today the Mangalam Group of Companies enjoys a comfortable spacing in one of the India’s largest media houses. Course Curriculum

The Department of Management Studies of the Mangalam College of Engineering aims to redefine management education which will be appealing to the students apropos the professional circles, open to the industry and attached to the people at large.

Interaction Room We have morphed our classroom into interaction rooms. The rooms are designed like auditoriums with comfort-able seating arrangements to facilitate discussions, and fully equipped with learning devices like projectors and audio-video systems

Library And Research Centre The Campus encourages learning with a library housing over 15,000 volumes, modern laboratories, extensive research facilities, seminar rooms, lecture rooms and a computer system with interactive terminals to support the academic activities of the college.

Placement Cell The department has a placement cell which offers facili-ties for campus interviews through tie-up programs with a number of reputed corporate houses and other organi-zations.

Admission Procedure for MBA Course The Admission to the MBA programme is based on the Written Test, Group Discussion and Personal Inter-view. The Aspirants will have to write the MAT (Manage-ment Aptitude Test) Test Conducted by AIMA (All India Management Association). A Valid Score in CAT/GMAT/XAT is also accepted. A Graduate student will have to secure minimum 50% marks in his/her degree level programme to get the eligibility for the MBA Programme.

Ragging and College Discipline All students are required to obey the rules and regula-tions framed by the College Authority from time to time. Regarding ragging, if any such incident comes to the notice of the College authority, the concerned students shall be given liberty to explain and if his/her explanation is not found satisfactory, the college authority will expel him/her from the institution.

Attendance The required percentage of attendance is compulsory for every student, and incase of any shortage in atten-dance, the concerned student shall not be allowed to appear for the university examinations as per the norms laid down by the university.

ID Card & College Uniform All Students are required to put on the ID card and wear proper uniform instructed by the college as part of College discipline.

Personality Development Workshops Exclusive Personality Development Workshops periodi-cally conducted under the aegis of eminent experts helps in the all-around development of the student’s personal-ity, contributing immensely to building up his / her self – esteem and confidence.

Career Guidance and Placement Cell A Career Guidance and Placement Cell functions directly under the Dean and consists of a Chief Placement Officer, selected Placement coordinators from the faculty and volunteers from the student fraternity. They have been tasked with the responsibility to ensure sound and practi-cal career guidance, counseling and placement assistance to the students. Highlights of their activities include:

n The Cell has institutionalized scientific vocational training and guidance as part of the structured teaching practices and achieved commendable success by its phased out structured practical approach.

n A commendable rapport has been established with leading lights in the industrial environment which has resulted in a highly responsive interface with them.

n The training curriculum seeks to improve skills in techni-cal expertise, general aptitude, inter-personal communica-tions, general awareness and group compatibility.

Placements@MMS The Placement activities of the 6th Batch of our institute started off with a week long placement training by Mr Vijay Menon, a corporate trainer of international repute. Students were trained on various aspects of career building. A live workshop was conducted to train the students on various aspects of Group Discussion, Interview, Resume writing, Personality development, Attitude formation etc. A full fledged placement database is created to cater to the needs of corporate. Some of the students from our present senior batch already got job offers. They include WIPRO Technologies (1), HDFC Bank (4), Sutherland (1), Business India(2), Metrolla Steels(4), CIPLA(3) and ICICI Pruden-tial(2). The remaining students are going through the process of recruitment and selection. Some more companies have started to short list our students. These companies include JRG Securities, Mangalam Publications, AXIS Bank, Indiainfoline etc. Over the years, the Mangalam Management Studies had a commendable placement track record.
