WELCOME
WELCOME TO THE NEWPORT MANSIONS WINE & FOOD FESTIVAL
We’ve been called “the best wine festival in the country,” but that doesn't mean we've stopped trying to get even better. Our 11th year brings with it an expansion of the Festival that wethink takes it to a whole new level. We’ve added another dayand several new events, and we have made some changes to our signature activities, so even if you’ve been with us before, we know you’ll enjoy a whole new experience this year.
This year we are kicking off our Festival on Thursdayevening with an exclusive Bordeaux Dinner at The Elms. Fridaybrings the familiar Wine & Rosecliff gala, but with a new twist -food prepared and presented by more than a dozen acclaimedchefs, to accompany an exquisite selection of wines.
Another new event is the Vintner Dinner-Women in Whites, inspired by the Frenchcuisine of Julia Child and prepared by some of the region’s most notable female chefs. Twogreat friends of our Festival, Chef Jacques Pépin and his daughter Claudine, will be honoredguests at the Vintner Dinner.
Our Grand Tastings will once again feature fabulous wines from around the world, exquisite food from local, regional and national chefs, artisanal food purveyors, celebrity chefcooking demonstrations, interactive activities and of course, that exquisite ocean view fromthe back lawn of Marble House. We’ve also brought back the Sunday Jazz Brunch, NewportAfter Dark, and terrific educational seminars that this year will be held in the newly-restoredhistoric Breakers Stable & Carriage House.
We are very happy to have FOOD & WINE back as our Presenting Sponsor, alongwith many other returning sponsors and several new ones. We hope that you'll stop by andsee them, and thank them for their support, which makes it possible for us to continue bringing you this wonderful event.
Finally, I just want to remind you why we do this. All of the proceeds from this Festivalsupport our mission of historic preservation in Newport, ensuring that The Elms, Rosecliff, Marble House and all of our other properties continue to be protected, preserved and presented for many generations to come.
Thank you for attending, and have fun!
