ocial justice is an
attempt to even the playing field when it
comes to basic rights…
…we are very capable of being an interna-
tional beacon of peace and human rights.
However, our recent track record does not
show that.
It is the right and responsibility of every citizen
to be involved in shaping their government
into what it ought to be…

he Adrian Maxson
scholarship is a truly inspired initiative that
was founded to support social engagement
in the Ogden community and beyond.
Receiving the Adrian Maxson scholarship
reminded me that the outside world noticed
the work I was doing and were positively
impacted by my actions.
This realization furthered my resolve
to live for service which has helped to
enrich my life.”

I remember quite vividly
at the dinner table, the family talking about all the despair and injustice in the world. Suddenly Adrian looked into my eyes and said, “So what are you doing about it?” After an uncomfortable pause I gave a feeble answer about supporting world hunger, blah, blah, blah. He seemed satisfied with my reply, but I certainly was not.
After Adrian was killed I discovered much about the kind of person he really was—kind and caring, and well beyond his years in understanding global affairs, human rights, and social justice. There was much he would have accomplished in our world.
In his memory and the spirit of his short life the Adrian Maxson Scholarship for Social Justice was established. Please consider a donation to this important and relevant scholarship with a tax-deductable gift.
