The show starts August 21, 2012 and runs through August 23, 2012 at the Best Western PLUS Sioux Falls Ramkota Hotel & Conference Center. Post familiarization tours are offered for Sioux Falls and the surrounding area through the weekend. The event brings together leading print and broadcast travel media to meet with destination marketing representatives from the United States and Canada in a highly organized and business-like format. The event is a unique three day program which includes two days of pre-scheduled journalist/exhibitor appointment sessions, local familiarization tours, pre/post tours, plus numerous networking opportunities. TMS is a one-stop opportunity for travel journalists to gather new story ideas and background material on a broad range of tourism products and develop personal relationships with key travel information sources. "TMS has never been held in our area and we are truly honored to have been chosen to host TMS 2012. We have been preparing since last September and are excited to share our community stories with the journalists this week," stated Teri Schmidt, Sioux Falls CVB Executive Director. All media must apply and be approved to attend. Qualified travel media include: editors, staff writers, assignment writers, freehand writers, photographers, video and film producers for newspapers, magazines, television, broadcast/video/film, internet, and travel guides books.
