BOOKS

Trust Media currently provides a customised warehousing and same-day-despatch service for hundreds of publishers. We supply a wide range of ti tles, including children’s books, educati onal resources and religious media, to the retail trade in the UK and Europe.

CARD & GIFT

Trust Media also owns a rapidly expanding card, stati onery and gift division – Penfold Card & Gift . With over 25 years’ experience, Penfold is a leading distributor of quality card and gift products in the UK and Ireland, serving many presti gious retail outlets.

The Warehouse

With over 20 years’ experience in logisti cs, Trust Media off ers a best-in-class distributi on service and takes pride in providing a reliably effi cient operati on. Our highly committ ed warehouse team regularly exceed service level agreements, consistently delivering added-value to our clients.

Based in Carlisle in Cumbria, our 65,000 sq ft warehouse has the proven capability to despatch over 220,000 product lines per month, supplying books and gift s to the UK and European markets.

SAME-DAY-DESPATCH Order Deadline:

• 2.30pm (Phone/Fax/Email)

• 4.00pm (Electronic/Web)

Trust Media is able to ship orders received as late as 4pm through our same-day-despatch service. Orders are delivered before 5pm the next day to UK desti nati ons via FedEx.

Performance Oriented

Trust Media is committ ed to meeti ng and exceeding agreed key performance targets, which are measured and reviewed monthly. We achieve excepti onally high success rates, including:

Flexible Service

Trust Media’s service can be fully-customised to meet the needs of you and your customers. A senior manager would be appointed to work with you, in additi on to a Carlisle-based account manager who would be focused on understanding and meeti ng your requirements.

We are able to off er ancillary work (either carrying it out in-house or co-ordinati ng the out sourcing) at mutually agreed prices, for example, sti ckering books and creati ng cello wrapped promoti onal bundles.

Customer Service

Our warehouse is supported by a dedicated Customer Service department who currently serve over 1,000 acti ve trade accounts, ranging from small independent retailers to nati onal bookshop chains and internet traders. The team have live access to bibliographic informati on on our stock fi le to assist with our customers’ queries.

Special Orders

Our Customer Service team can manage event/exhibiti on orders, see-safes and other unique orders which require special handling.

Direct Fulfi lment Service

Trust Media is experienced at handling direct-to-consumer fulfi lment and currently provides this service to a range of organisati ons.

We are able to despatch products on behalf of a third party direct to their customers, under the third party’s brand, including:

• Drop-ship fulfi lment direct to consumers

• Full B2C service where we handle all aspects of customer service, including dedicated phone lines, postal orders and payments

Trade Website

Our easy-to-use trade website enables our customers to search our enti re stock list quickly, check live stock availability, upload large orders and order products online. Customers have their own log-in details allowing them to view specifi c account informati on, discounts and backorders.



As a customer-focused business, Trust Media’s aim is always to provide the very best EDI capability, supported by high quality data feeds. To achieve that, we have invested heavily in systems and processes that support these acti viti es within our main ERP system.

Our key EDI services comprise:

• EDI ordering & invoicing

• Processing ONIX fi les

• Data feeds to multi ple channels (price and availability)

• An expanding range of web services including live stock availability

Trust Media is committ ed to EDI as a means of improving the supply chain and want to work closely with publishers to deliver benefi ts to their trade customers. We work principally with the following services:

• Nielson Teleordering

• VAN, FTP and AS2 capabiliti es for orders, acknowledgements, delivery notes and invoices

• TRADACOMS for ordering and acknowledgements, invoices and credit notes

• Synergi – our own store-based proprietary soft ware which provides customers with their own means of electronic ordering direct with Trust Media

We also work with the X12, EDItX and EDIFACT EDI standards and with Batch.co.uk to provide a number of services to customers. We take regular ONIX feeds from suppliers, including price and availability data, which we use to update our stock fi le.

Reporti ng Tools & Business Intelligence

Trust Media generates detailed scheduled reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis, providing publishers with regular sales and stock informati on.

We are also able to analyse sales data, using our own Business Intelligence (BI) reporti ng tools, to gain invaluable insights. Easy-to-use and accessible online, BI provides instant data in a customisable interface.

Supplying up to two years’ worth of historic sales data, which can be broken down and analysed, for example, by channel, market segment and customer, it enables users to easily identi fy trends and make comparisons by day, week or month.

Bespoke data queries could be created to ensure your staff could access the data easily and in exportable data formats, where required.

• The user-interface is friendly and intuiti ve, minimal training would be needed.

• Multi ple visual formats are available to view the data such as tables, bar-chart, graphs, pie-charts, dials etc.

• Drill down to view underlying data in tabular form.

• Data can be sorted and fi ltered with ease.

• Data can be exported to local PC for further analysis as required (eg in Excel).

We aim to provide our retail customers with excepti onal service and accurate order handling, with the support of a highly effi cient call centre team. All this is underpinned by strong trading relati onships which have been built up over many years.

We have two focused sales teams serving accounts throughout the UK and Ireland, who would be able to represent you, if required:

• Five full-ti me employed Area Sales Managers

• Eight independent sales agents – focused on card and gift sales

Our team of dedicated Area Sales Managers (ASMs) have extensive experience and knowledge of the bookselling industry, with widespread access into both the general and religious markets. They meet regularly with the buyers from internet retailers and nati onal bookshop chains, both at head offi ce and store level. The sales team have excellent relati onships with independent bookshops, including the religious sector, working closely with key accounts to provide customised promoti ons and product supply.

Working alongside our ASMs, we have a specialist team of sales agents who are focused on growing card and gift sales. As a result of a successful new customer acquisiti on strategy, we supply a rapidly increasing number of trade accounts. We sell to an impressive range of presti gious retail outlets, including department stores, garden centres and museum gift shops, as well as independent gift stores.

Our sales teams are supported by a centralised marketi ng programme, including proacti ve sales calls, adverti sing, catalogue mailings, exhibiti on stands and online marketi ng acti vity (emails, blogs and social media).
