Renewable Material Sources
Cane Fiber Paper White is made from 95% Sugar Cane fiber
waste (Bagasse) and 5% Hemp & Linen fibers. This material
seem like a “natural” for labeling rums and could provide a
positive marketing spin for our packaging. However, at a cost that
is more than double our current paper stock and limited global
availability, we would recommend it’s use on products with a
higher retail/lower volume.
Plant Bottle: 100% recyclable PET bottle made with up to
30% plant based material (sugar cane fiber waste &
molasses) which is a renewable resource. The material
reduces carbon emissions by 25% vs traditional PET. It also
does not contaminate the PET recycling stream, so it can be
recycled over & over. Development led by Coke (Dasani)
