The TOKAI Group entered the city gas (piped natural gas) business in 1950, and since then we have continued to diversify our businesses, providing a wide range of products and services vital for people’s daily lifestyles, including liquefied petroleum gas (LP gas), information and communications services, CATV, Aqua (bottled water delivery), Construction equipment and real estate, security, insurance, bridal services, nursing care, comprehensive renovations, and low-cost mobile service (LIBMO). We aim to provide comprehensive yet thorough lifestyle support services under our TLC (Total Life Concierge) concept. TLC Kasatoku Plus, launched in May 2017, rewards customers who currently use eligible services with additional points for multiple contracts when they conclude another new contract for eligible services. And new customers who conclude two or more contracts for eligible services as well. This beneficial new system provides extra points for five years to customers who sign up for two or more TOKAI Group primary service contracts (LP gas, City gas, Aqua (bottled water delivery), Internet, CATV, Intelligent home, security and electric power). In December 2012 we initiated our TLC Membership Service, a Group-wide membership system to foster integrated synergy throughout the Group, and the number of members exceeded 900,000.The TLC Membership Service, which is a membership system that awards TLC Points to members for using lifestyle infrastructure services such as gas, internet, CATV, Aqua (bottled water delivery) that the Group provides. Members exchange their accumulated points for WAON and other electronic money or for products of many kinds, and use them to pay for group services that they have purchased.The TLC Point App, a members-only smart phone application introduced in October 2018 simplifies checking, exchanging, and using accumulated points at the same time as gives the latest information about special offers from the group. The TOKAI Group launched its city gas business in Yaizu City, Shizuoka Prefecture in 1950, paving the way for our entry into the petroleum gas (LP gas) business ‒ our current main line of business ‒ in 1959. Since then, we have continued to reliably and safely supply gas to our customers. LP gas is expected to play a key role as a decentralized energy source capable of a quick recovery after a natural disaster. Our LP gas serves some 650 thousand customers in Tokyo and 14 other prefectures ranging from the Tohoku region to Kyushu region. Our natural gas-sourced city gas serves 61 thousand customers in the cities of Yaizu, Fujieda and Shimada in Shizuoka Prefecture, Shimonita-machi in Gunma Prefecture, and Nikaho in Akita Prefecture (as of April 2020), evolving into a business that supports the foundations of regional communities, placing upmost importance on building communication and relationships based on trust with our customers. In October 2019 we established T&T Energy Co., Ltd. as part of a joint investment by TOKAI CORPORATION and TEPCO Energy Partner, Incorporated as a city gas retail sales business servicing the Chukyo area. Due to our advanced technologies and reliable supply of LP gas for industrial use, liquefied natural gas (LNG), and other general high-pressure gases, we have gained the trust of many corporate customers. April 2016 marked the start of the liberalization of Japan’s retail electricity market. In response, the TOKAI Group added electric power, a vital everyday service, to our TLC services lineup, as part of efforts to strengthen our selection of comprehensive customer lifestyle services. The greatest advantage of these improvements is the opportunity to combined the Group's diverse array of services, including gas, Internet, CATV, Aqua (bottled water delivery), giving customers more freedom and making sure we are their first choice when selecting a service provider.Moreover, we entered a business partnership agreement with TEPCO Energy Partner, Inc., one of the nation's largest power companies. Before starting the provision of household-use electric power, on October 2015 we began sales of industrial- and commercial-use high-voltage electric power.By adding electric power to our lineup and continuing to utilize technologies and knowledge accumulated through many years in the gas supply market, we strive to offer all-encompassing energy solutions. The TOKAI Group began to offer internet access services in 1996. We unveiled ADSL internet services using our own network system equipment in 2001, and later added various internet access services and optional services, such as fiber-optic and mobile network service.

■ Broadband Internet BusinessAs an Internet service provider (ISP), we provide internet services to 710 thousand customers through @T COM which has nationwide coverage, and TOKAI Network Club (TNC), covering Shizuoka Prefecture. Starting in 2015, we began using the wholesale fiber-optic broadband connections offered by Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (NTT) to provide fiber-optic internet connections via our @T COM and TNC Hikari services. In 2020, we received the RBB SPEED AWARD 2019*₁ in recognition of high transmission speeds, and our @T COM Hikari services have received the top prize in the Hikari Collaboration category (for the Eastern Japan region) for five years running. We will continue to strive to improve customer satisfaction and provide affordable, comfortable and secure communications services to households, together with enhanced optional services.

■ Mobile Communications BusinessIn February 2017, we began offering the low-priced SIM cards "LIBMO" so that customers can use their smartphones with reasonable and peace of mind. "LIBMO" is a low-priced SIM cards recommended for those who want to lower their monthly charge on their smartphones or first use their smartphones. Today these SIM cards are used by 48 thousand customers.Moreover, since 2006 we have set up 12 SoftBank-commissioned mobile phone shops (mainly in Shizuoka Prefecture) that are used by 210 thousand customers.In 2019 we partnered with “iCracked Store”*2, a mobile phone repair service provider, as part of a push to expand LIBMO sales locations. In addition to this, we opened three collaboration stores in shopping malls that offer a combination of SoftBank phone sales, mobile phone repair services and LIBMO sales. The TOKAI Group is striving to improve and expand its services in an aim to be a comprehensive communication service provider that maintains a solid understanding of our customers’ needs, enabling customers to use our services with confidence, while actively pursuing face-to-face sales activities rooted in local communities.

As part of the data center services, provided under the banner of our ICT (information and communications technology) business for corporate customers, we offer outsourcing services including colocation, mailing systems, data backup, and cloud platforms based on our high-standard data centers.In addition to providing services through multiple centers in Shizuoka, Okayama and Nagano Prefectures, we are working to expand our business continuity planning (BCP) and disaster recovery (DR) service offerings by collaborating with multiple data center operators in Japan. We offer communications services to corporate customers using our fiber-optic network that extends for a total of 8,700 kilometers from the northern Kanto region to Okayama Prefecture. We use this as a foundation to provide high-quality internet connections, communication between bases, and large-scale public cloud connection services.Our system development service is backed by some 700 engineers, and provides total support from consulting through construction, operation, and maintenance in a variety of industries, including the food service industry, healthcare and public works, and fields, with a focus on accounting and human resource systems.We are also responding to changing customer needs and shifts in the market by weaving together three strengths of the TOKAI Group: data centers, networks, and system development.In March 2013 we established a joint venture, Cloud Master Co., Ltd., in Taipei, Taiwan, with SYSCOM Group, a large Taiwanese information services organization. TOKAI Group's CATV business offers broadcasting and communications (internet access) services in seven prefectures, Shizuoka, Tokyo, Kanagawa, Chiba, Nagano, Okayama and Miyagi Prefectures. Our broadcasting services distribute information to 860 thousand customers, who receive regional information via local television channels and digital multi-channel broadcasting. Our communication services, enjoyed by 290 thousand customers, include standard CATV and internet services, as well as reliable fiber-optic internet and telephone services that utilize our fiber-optic network. The combination of these broadcasting and communications services has paved the way for a triple play service that provides high-quality broadcasting, communications and telecommunications. As a result, the number of customers of the CATV business that combined broadcasting and communication exceeded 1 million in December 2017.Moreover, we also support 4K/8K satellite broadcasting, and will look to continue to enhance our broadcasting services in the future. Community channels on our local community network represent a major strength of our CATV business. By broadcasting local information through these channels, we can forge strong bonds with people in the communities we serve.In addition to local disaster prevention notifications, we use these community channels to create and broadcast programs including local news, festivals, and competitions such as student sports tournaments, featuring people from the community. In these ways we establish our position as a comprehensive service provider of local information, and we will keep striving to bring smiles to the faces of our customers.

In November 2007, the TOKAI Group started a bottled water delivery service in Shizuoka Prefecture using returnable plastic bottles. This was followed in March 2011 with the launch of our disposable bottled water delivery service Japan-wide. Today, these two water delivery services are used by a total of 161 thousand customersSince we kicked off our returnable bottle service, it has become a favorite of 73,000 customers as the brand Tasty Water Delivered to your Door.The disposable bottled water delivery service was later revamped under the new brand name "Ulunom" in May 2013. This service is centered in the Kanto region, and it has come to be used by 88,000 customers.Mount Fuji acts as a large filter that purifies the water over long periods of time ‒ a defining characteristic of this product. The natural water we deliver to our customers has received high acclaim the world over, being awarded a Monde Selection Grand Gold award, and the highest three-star award at the ITI International Superior Taste Contest. Our water production network includes the Aqua Yaizu Plant, which was opened in Yaizu City, Shizuoka Prefecture in April 2008, and the Aqua Fujisan Plant, our second plant, which was opened in Fujinomiya City, Shizuoka Prefecture in March 2013.Furthermore, in April 2012 we established an overseas base, TOKAI (Shanghai) Trade & Commerce Co., Ltd. in Shanghai, China. ■ Comprehensive RenovationAs a specialist in the energy field, the TOKAI Group offers its customers optimized water-related facility renovations leveraging its extensive experience in community-based gas operations, eco-friendly renovations that prioritize environmental conservation, and earthquake-proofing renovations that provide families with greater protection from earthquakes, to name just a few of the renovation solutions on offer.The number of renovations exceeded 50,000, giving the TOKAI Group the highest sales performance in Shizuoka Prefecture in house renovations as well. ■ OTS HouseWith the spate of major natural disasters threatening our lives we are seeing a massive shift in awareness towards energy and lifelines. The TOKAI Group draws upon its past achievements in conventional housing construction and renovations, together with know-how accumulated as an energy services provider, to introduce the OTS House, a type of house that is not dependent on grid system infrastructure, thus ensuring owners a regular living environment under normal circumstances, and when faced with a disaster. This house features a self-sufficient water supply using rainwater, and a self-sufficient power supply based on solar power and large storage batteries. This is a new form of house for the near future, one that strives to achieve a decarbonized society through the use of non-depleting natural energy and clean energy. The TOKAI Group has responded to increasing calls for energy measures taken on a global scale by helping pave the way for an ideal future through sustainable housing development.

■ Security and insurance businessWe launched a security service in 1984, offering everything from security monitoring for elderly users to various services for factories, commercial stores and office facilities. These efforts also include the installation of security cameras tailored to specific applications and locations in response to a growing awareness for crime-prevention.In addition, we have operated property insurance solicitation business since 1973, before entering the life insurance solicitation business in 1988. It is predicted that as Japan transitions from an aging society to a super-aged society, the percentage of elderly people will pass 30% in 2030. To establish a business as a response to this societal shift and to contribute to local communities, we have opened eight Refrea facilities including daytime care, short-stay, and paid nursing homes, in Shizuoka City (as of end of March, 2020). All are now operating well in light of the rising demand for nursing care.The facility name “Refrea”, which is a word created by combining parts of the English verb “Refresh” and the Japanese verb, “fureau” that means “be in contact with”, expresses our desire to cheerfully refresh their users, and the company name Life Plus Corporation refers to the added value provided by services designed to give our customers security and enrichment in their lives, services available only from the Tokai Group. Wedding CeremoniesThe finest hospitality that surprises and delights.The TOKAI Group entered the bridal business in 1973. We operate wedding, reception, and restaurant facilities, including Grandair Bouquet Tokai in the Aoi Tower next to JR Shizuoka Station in central Shizuoka Prefecture.The Grandair name, referring to a magnificent sky, was thus named to reflect the closeness to the sky of Aoi Tower, from where visitors can enjoy sweeping views of Mount Fuji and Suruga Bay. In addition to its outstanding location, this facility offers excellent hospitality that surprises and delights.

In Yaizu City, a renowned fishing town boasting of Yaizu Port, which is one of only a few major bases in Japan for deep sea fishing for bonito and tuna, as well as Kogawa Port, a base for coastal fishing, the company carries out a wide range of ship repairs on vessels up to the 500 ton class, including deep-sea bonito and tuna fishing boats, government vessels, international purse seiners, coastal purse seiners, coastal bonito fishing vessels, and coastal vessels.
