Library News. This week is our Book Week term so our
Book Week parade will be held on Thursday 20th
September. Parents are most welcome to attend the parade.
The theme for Book Week this year is “Find Your
Treasure” so students can come dressed in pirate theme or a
book character. During the parade, the winners of the Book
Week competitions will be announced.
These are the competitions the students can enter:
1. Colouring – these will be given out in week 6. Must be handed in by Monday
16th September.
2. Construction – Students can make/construct anything to do with pirates. Must be
handed in by 16th
September.
3. Drawing – Students can draw anything to do with pirates. Must be handed in by 16th
September.
4. Story Writing – Students can write a story about anything. The winning entry will be
published as a book for the library.
5. Guessing Competition – Students use clues given to them in library lessons to guess
the thing that is pirate related. They can then write their answer and their name on as
many pieces of paper as they want and put them in the treasure chest entry box in the
library. Winners will be drawn at the Book Week parade.
I hope to see as many parents and friends as possible at our Book Week parade!

Hi there, we just deposited the $285
raised from the cupcake day. WOW! We
did not expect such support and to think
we could have raised even more if we
hadn’t run out of cupcakes! Thank you to
everyone who supported Lilly’s
fundraising effort. Special thanks to Mrs
Djemal for her help and of course
everyone in Grevillea - they ordered the
most cupcakes out of the whole school!

P&C Meeting: Please mark 3.15pm Thursday 20th
September 2018 on your calendar. Come along and be involved in the
discussions and decision making for ways to continue to improve our school. We would love to see you there.
P&C Facebook Page: Follow us on Facebook P&C - Tivoli State School.
Volunteering in the school: Due to insurance requirements, all volunteers need to be members of the P&C in order to be
covered in the event of an accident. Being a member of the P&C does not mean that you are required to be an “active” P&C
member, however it does give you a voice and a vote on issues raised at P&C meetings. P&C Membership forms are
available at the Office.
Bus Shopping Trip Fundraiser Bus Shopping Trip. This P&C annual fundraiser has been booked for Saturday 10th
November. Due to a price rise (from $66 to $75) in the cost per person for the package that includes lunch, this year we have
opted for the BYO Lunch package. This brings the cost down to $55 per person which covers the bus hire & morning tea.
So gather together a group of friends, bring a packed lunch (I’m stopping off at Subway on the way in ) and join us for a
great day of fun and shopping. We will be visiting a range of outlets catering to all tastes (e.g. ladies fashion, lingerie,
handbags, shoes, jewellery, homeware, kitchenware, toys, confectionery, giftware, books, etc) There will be heaps of
bargains to be found as the outlets offer discounts up to 70% off retail prices. Our shopping adventure always proves to be a
great opportunity to get in some early Christmas shopping while raising money for our school. To book your seats, please
complete the attached form & return it to the Office.
ALL proceeds from ticket sales
($20 per person) will be
donated to Buy a Bale and can
be purchased via the link below
or in person at the River station
or at Plainland Hotel
