Sabaliauskienė / V. Žiūraitė Short course description: To develop communicative language competence which includes linguistic, pragmatic and sociolinguistic components through reception (listening and reading comprehension), production and interaction (speaking and writing) as well as mediation (translation) language skills at basic user elementary level (A2). Course content: The course is designed to develop students’ competence of speaking, writing, listening, reading and using grammar correctly at A2 level. Students complete studying grammar tenses of direct mood, getting acquainted with the topics of work, sports, professional and personal life, trips and leisure as well as acquiring the communicational skills and usage of grammatical rules. The form of studies includes lectures, seminars, self-study tasks and work with TELL ME MORE programme and virtual MOODLE environment (on-line work, synchronous and asynchronous conversations and discussion forums, interactive tests and exercises). Grading and evaluating student work in class and/or at the final exam: Colloquium - 20 %, final examination - 30%, class work - 50 %.
