SMART Goal Evaluations

• The SMART Goal evaluation is the link from the 14-15 Single Plan for Student Achievement to the 15-16 Single Plan for Student Achievement

• This is different than the SMART Goal Verifications in years past• In preparation for Federal Program Monitoring visit to be held in

February 2016• Will begin with guiding questions

• These are determined by the district, and will be prepopulated• Are rhetorical, and are answered by the evaluation process

Guiding Questions

SMART Goal Verification

Page 30: Title I/SSC/SPSA Contact Meeting 1 2015-2016 August 31, 2015 September 3, 2015.

SMART Goal Evaluation

• For each item in the action plan, you must:• Tie it to one or more SMART Goals• Evaluate “What worked”• Evaluate “What didn’t work”• Determine “What modifications will we make to the plan”

Page 31: Title I/SSC/SPSA Contact Meeting 1 2015-2016 August 31, 2015 September 3, 2015.

SMART Goal Evaluation

Page 32: Title I/SSC/SPSA Contact Meeting 1 2015-2016 August 31, 2015 September 3, 2015.

Conclusion

• Will end with a one or two paragraph summary of the modifications to overall program at your site based upon the individual action plan evaluation

Page 33: Title I/SSC/SPSA Contact Meeting 1 2015-2016 August 31, 2015 September 3, 2015.

Other Considerations

• This should be done jointly with the School Site Council• Not, the AP writes it and the SSC rubber stamps it• Document the process in your SSC minutes

• Many plans currently have a significant number of action steps on their plans

• Considering focusing your action plans in the 15-16 SPSA and beyond• This will help narrow down the number of initiatives you are monitoring• This will help with the eventual evaluation in 16-17
