Task 5: TITLE IDEAS

This is one name which I have chosen as an option for my magazine. I chose this as one of

my options as the word pulse is something which stand out as the audience would imagine a pulse and give them excitement. Due to the fact I am targeting my magazine at men of 18 years and older I do not think this is a name which would

draw their attention and give them understanding that this is a Hip-Hop magazine. The Pulse is a name which does not really relate to a Hip Hop magazine but has a sense of Rock. A pulse is

likely to mean the music is heavy and opposite to a Hip Hop genre.

The rize is another name of which I suggested for my music magazine. I chose the rize as this would mean

the rising of my edit of my unique, up and coming magazine. The rise is seen as as something to my target audience as a good thing and this would be

something of which they can relate too. The choice of the spelling of the word ?rize? is so the audience

understand who the magazine is aimed at and gives a relatable side of the magazine; making them more

likely to buy it.

Platinum is the name which I have chosen for my magazine masthead. This is because I believe this name is something different and is highly likely to attract my target audience. The word platinum is known to be a precious, silvery white expensive

mental; all of which I want my magazine to convey throughout. The word platinum itself is a way of attracting my target audience- it is different and

unique to other magazines, likewise to stand out on the shelves. When choosing my masthead name and moving on with this masthead it is important that I use the correct font and colour in order to convey the correct connotations to my chosen

target audience. Platinum is a simple but affective name for my masthead and for this reason I have chosen it.

One of my ideas was to call my magazine Hustle as this is something which the target audience which I am

aiming my magazine at would understand. My target audience would

be aimed at males, and mostly of a black ethnicity. The word ?Hustle? is something which is stereotypically related to black gang-like males. The word Hustle is the meaning of working to make money and is known to be a state of great activity.

This is something I want my audience to understand and be able to relate too. It is

important that my target audience can recognise my magazine and relate to

this as this is will draw their attention and give them more reason to buy. Hustling is also something which is related to Hip Hop music- through the lyrics of hip hop

artists. The masthead Hustle is one which I am likely to use and seem to be

leaning towards.

Encore was another idea of which I had for my magazine masthead. Encore is

something which is completely music related and means the repeating of a

performance. I want my magazine to be obvious that it is of a music genre as this is

something which will make them buy. By choosing to name my masthead this name it

would give my magazine a sense of repeating of the good- something I want my

target audience to think of my magazine. Encore is something different to magazines and would look unique on shelves if I used

the correct font and colour.
