Official Minutes of the Month Year Dutchess County Dental Society Executive Board Meeting The Executive Board of the Dutchess County Dental Society met on November 6th, 2017. The Olive Garden Restaurant in Poughkeepsie, New York. Board members present were: Drs. Prunty, Angiolillo, Blondin, Bloom, Dewhirst, Kirtland, Kroboth, Manasar, Paunovic, Rosenbloom, Smith, and Payami Call to order at time: 6:55pm. The September 2017 Executive board minutes were accepted. President’s Report: President welcomed Dr. Anthony Cuomo who is the past president (2010) of the 9th District Dental Association and is currently finish a 4 year term as a trustee of 9th. Veteran’s Smile Day Initiative: Dr. Angiolillo reported for Dr. Tegtmeier. Good amount of dentist volunteers signed up to screen and treat veterans in their offices. Corresponding Secretary’s Report: No report Treasurer Report: Dr. Richard Rosenbloom reported: Due to the success of the DCDS All Day Spring Seminar, the Treasury is healthy and is in position to waive 2018 dues and continue the $10 meal subsidy for our monthly meetings for DCDS Active members. DCDS Associate members (those who do not live or work within Dutchess County or those who belong to another branch of the Ninth District) will be charged 2018 annual dues and for such, will be afforded the $10 monthly meeting subsidy, but will not be eligible for the Season Ticket offering. Billing notices for associate member dues and Season Ticket offering will be emailed prior to Thanksgiving. In addition, the very generous Season Ticket offering will be made available again in 2018. For a current fee of just $100, DCDS Active members will be credited for prepayment of the 2018 general membership meetings. A monthly RSVP and meal choice to our Steward before the deadline is still required in order to make a reservation to attend. Again this year, if you make a reservation which is included in our meal count to the venue, and you do not attend (do not show or late cancellation), you will be charged the full cost of the meal that the DCDS was charged for and paid. Prompt payment within 14 days of that meeting is required to maintain your Season Ticket offer. Motion: Motion passed unanimously to eliminate all annual dues for DCDS members in 2018. Membership Committee: Dr. Smith reported. Dr. Justin Kang voted in as a DCDS member Bulletin Committee: No report All-Day Committee: Dr. Smith reported. 2018 meeting is on Wednesday, April 11 at the Grandview. Eight credits will be awarded. Steward’s Report: Dr. Louise Dewhirst reported. Venues confirmed through February 2018. Community Outreach and Support Committee: No report Dutchess County Players: Dr. Smith reported that we will have some upcoming school plays. Infection Control and BLS/ALS Courses: No report Fluoridation Effort: No report DCDS Hall of Fame Committee: Dr. Smith reported; June award to Dr. Kirtland Social Committee: Dr. Smith will be the chair of the new sub-committee Next Board Meeting: Tuesday, January 2nd, 2018.
