Since its foundation in 1974, Titaş has completed many

road construction, infrastructural piping, petroleum piping,

drilling, blasting, dam and concrete structures, excavation

and hauling works and has undertaken all import and export

work of related materials and equipment to those projects.

For infrastructure work, Titaş has increased its annual

earthmoving capacity to more than 12 million cubic meters.

Many municipal domestic water distribution networks,

housing waste water networks, collectors, roads,

pavements, energy, communication, natural gas, complex

power plant infrastructure works, heating-cooling networks

for university campuses, industrial and public housing

complex projects have been completed before their

scheduled contract deadlines.

Early Works and Facilities Construction for South

Caucasus Pipeline Expansion Project, Georgia

(Between 2014 – today)

SCPX Early Works & Facilities Construction – Bechtel

ENKA Joint Venture (BEJV)

The existing 690 km South Caucasus Pipeline is 42"

diameter and transports gas from the Sangachal

Terminal in Azerbaijan to markets in Georgia and

Turkey. It has a system design capacity of 7.4 bcma. As

a result of the extra gas arising horn the Shah Deniz 2

Project there is a requirement to increase the capacity of

the SCP system. This is called the South Caucasus

Pipeline Expansion (SCPX). SCPX will increase the

capacity of the existing system by approximately 16

bcma.

This expansion will be provided by a new 48" diameter

pipeline, which will run in parallel with the existing SCP

from KP 23 in Azerbaijan to the Georgian Border and a

further 63km into Georgia making a total length of 487

km.

In addition SCPX requires two new Compressor Stations

plus an expansion of an existing Pressure Reducing and

Metering Station, all situated in Georgia. The Early

Works that are associated to construction of these

Stations are the subject of this work, which will be

carried out by Titaş.

Prishtine – Hani I Elezit (Route No:6) Motorway,

Kosovo (Between 2010-2013)

Bechtel ENKA General Partners (BEGP)

Motorway is beginning from Morine in the Albania border

then going through Prizren, Suhareke, Duhel, Malisheve,

Arlatte, Komorane, Sllatina and reaching Prishtina. It is

curving around Prishtina and ending in Besi small town on

the north of Prishtina.

Titaş helped BEGP to build 77 km of this route that total

length is 89 km. Motorway is 28 meters wide which has 2

circular strips of 3.75 meters with an emergency lane of

2.5 meters and the green belt in median width between 3-4

meters.

Project includes 22 bridges, 61 underpass/overpasses and

9 interchanges construction. Project team executed 20

million cubic meters excavation, 13 million cubic meters

embankment fill, 200,000 meters drainage pipe

installation, 265,000 cubic meters concrete and over 1

million tones asphalt works in 42 months. Motorway

opened to traffic as planned on November 2013.

Works, which has started in 2010, on the Morine-Merdare Motorway Project in Kosovo continued until 2013.

A total of 77-kilometer of the motorway was completed and opened for transportation on November 26, 2013.

Titaş, as an earthwork, drilling and blasting subcontractor feels proud of excavation-backfilling works with

approximately 7 million cubic meters earthmoving, construction of various size reinforced concrete vents and

culverts along a part of 20-kilometers of the opened 60-kilometer highway, was completed in 2012 by Titaş.

As of the end of 2013, Titaş had more than 200 employees and achieved ‘zero accident’.

Motorway is the biggest investment and infrastructure project ever done in Kosovo. The motorway project

Morine - Prizren - Prishtina, helps New Europeans that will be created by the new possibilities of free

movement, and integrates powerful country in the region of Kosovo. Moreover this motorway connected

Kosovo to Albania, Albania to Kosovo.

Rreshen - Kalimash Motorway, Albania (Between 2007 – 2009)

Albania Motorway Project Rreshen to Reps & Quarry Operations - Bechtel ENKA Joint Venture (BEJV)

The Project was a key connection between Durnes Port, Albania's primary harbor on the Adriatic Sea and

Kosovo. In addition to the great amount of travel time saved, which will be 2 hours instead of 6 hours, this

new route served to stimulate the economy in Albania's northeastern region.

The first section of the 61 km long highway is the 18 km long stretch from Rreshen to Reps. The 27 km

Section 2 is from Reps to Thirra. 15 km long Section 3 is between Thirra and Kolshi where Mount Runes,

at an altitude of 1,858 m, will be crossed with a 5.5 km, double bore tunnel. All construction works

excluding one tube of the tunnel was completed in June 2009.

The Motorway was designed as dual carriageways of 2 X 3.75 m, supplemented with 2.0 m emergency

shoulder lanes. The major work items comprised 21 million cubic meters of excavation, 8.5 million cubic

meters of earth filling, 0.6 million cubic meters of concrete and shotcrete, 1.0 million tones of sub base

and cement treated base and 0.45 million tones of asphalt for the construction of the motorway of 61 km

long with all bridges, viaducts and two tubes each of 5.5 km in length, on the challenging topography of

the Albania mountains terrain at an altitude over 1,000 m.

Titaş undertook the Quarry Operations for material needs for the motorway project. As of the end of 2009,

Titaş had 118 employees and achieved ‘zero accident’ during the project.

Bregana-Zagreb, Dubrovnik Motorway, Croatia (Between 2003 – 2004)

Drainage Works at Section B&C of the Bregana Zagreb Dubrovnik Motorway Project – Bechtel ENKA

Joint Venture (BEJV). Titaş, with ENKA and Bechtel (BEJV), undertook the turn-key construction of the

Croatian motorway in 2003.

The motorway project having a total length of 156 km, consisted of two independent sections. Section 1,

the 13 km Bregana-Jankomir motorway, the four-lane link from the capital city Zagreb to the border of

Croatia and Slovenia was opened to traffic in December 2000 and the other Section, the 143 km

Bosiljevo-Svetirok motorway from central Croatia towards the Dalmatian Coast was opened in July 2004.

The project was completed 14 months ahead of schedule with 4,000 workers employed at the peak of the

construction. The project has won the 2004 Croatian Contractor Safety Award as it was successfully

realized without any compromise in quality or safety.

The motorway was considered to be of vital importance as it provides the principal link between the

Zagreb region in central Croatia and the Dalmatian coast. With this motorway, Croatia’s Dalmatian coast

is integrated into the central and western European motorway network.

Throughout the construction, 21 million cubic meters of earth was excavated, 0.65 million cubic meters of

concrete was poured, 18 million cubic meters of fill material had been used, 5.1 million tones of sub-

base and cement treated base and 1.18 million tones of asphalt were laid down. The project also included

the construction of bridges and viaducts, having a total length of 7,500 m.

Ankara - Gerede Highway, Turkey

ENKA and Bechtel began the design and construction of the motorway in 1987. The 120 km Gerede -

Ankara section is a 2x3 lane motorway, and the 110 km Ankara peripheral section is a 2x4 lane motorway.

There are six interchanges on the Gerede - Ankara section and 14 interchanges on the Ankara Ring road

section, as well as 22 viaducts, 3 bridges, 63 under and overpasses.

It is one of the most significant motorway projects in the world, involving 166 million cubic meters of

excavation, 22 million tones of paving and 1.5 million cubic meters of concrete. At the peak of construction,

a workforce of 6,300 was employed.

The Gerede - Ankara section of the project was opened to traffic on October 28, 1992. The Ankara Ring

road was completed on May 31, 1999.

INTRODUCTION

Following a build-own-operate (BOO) tender in 1997, the InterGen – ENKA partnership was awarded the

right to build, own and operate the Gebze Power Plant with a nominal capacity of 1,554 MW, the Adapazarı

Power Plant with a nominal capacity of 777 MW and the İzmir Power Plant with a nominal capacity of 1,523

MW, respectively. ENKA and Bechtel joint venture was the turnkey EPC contractor for all three plants.

Each power island in these natural gas-fired combined cycle power plants consisted of two combustion

turbines/generators, two-heat recovery steam generators and one steam turbine/generator. In the Gebze

and Adapazarı power plants, natural draft dry cooling towers serve each power island, whereas in the İzmir

plant, low-profile forced draft wet cooling towers were built, using seawater as a cooling medium.

The combustion turbine generators were supplied by General Electric (USA), the steam turbine generators

by Alstom Power (Germany), the closed cooling system by EGI (Hungary), the heat-recovery steam

generators by CMI (Belgium), the switchyards by Siemens (Turkey-Germany), the main and auxiliary

transformers by Alstom (Turkey), the water treatment plant by Aquatech – ENKA Teknik (USA-Turkey), the

gas RMS systems by ENKA Teknik (Turkey) and the DCS control systems by ABB-Bailey (USA).

At various times during construction, approximately 12,000 workers were employed at all three plants. The

Gebze and Adapazarı power plants were completed in 2002 and the İzmir plant in 2003.

ALIAGA IZMIR / TURKEY – NATURAL GAS CCPP






INTRODUCTION

During the commercial operations of plants, with their

annual generation capacity of 32 billion KWh, ENKA has

achieved high levels of availability and generated over

350 billion kWh from its three power plants, supplying

14% of Turkey’s electricity demand.

In that period, meticulous planning and close supervision

have enabled ENKA to successfully complete planned

maintenance in the shortest time yet achieved for GE

9FA +e machines.

Adapazarı plant achieved 99.8% availability, nearly 7

percentage points higher than the industry average, and

noted to be a global record in F-class gas turbine

technology. Considering that performance, Power

Magazine selected the Adapazarı plant as one of the

award-winning gas-fired top plants in 2011.
