Rugged Chassis Digital Projection created the core of the TITAN body as an ultra rigid, distortion-free platform. This chassis, with its multi-layered fabrication, is uncompromising when faced with mechanical stress. As an example, the corner of one TITAN projector can support as many as three addi-tional TITANs without suffering from chassis flex. Thus, optical perfor-mance for illumination uniformity is maintained, even under extreme mechanical conditions. DP’s innovative design yields a product that is significantly lighter than other technologies, while providing chassis rigidity that cannot be found in any other commercial-grade projector.

The Principles of Thoughtfully executed thermal management is vital to providing long-term lumen maintenance, maximum lamp life and overall product reliability. DP’s TITAN projectors benefit from CoolTek™ Engineering - a catalog of efficient power and thermal management systems designed to assure key display components operate well within their optimal thermal range and consume far less power than comparable products.

One example of CoolTek™ engineering incorporated within TITAN projectors is SilentStream™, an array of DC controlled “smart fans,” managed by energy efficient thermal sensors.

The SilentStream™ design efficiently moves fresh, filtered air through the projector, extracting maximum heat from lamps, electronics, DMDs and sensitive optical components, while producing operational noise levels that are lower than any other product in the TITAN class.

Minimizing operating wattage and maximizing lumens is also at the heart of the CoolTek™ philosophy. This leads DP’s engineers to carefully design lamp and optical systems that are extraordinarily efficient. Not surprisingly, TITAN projectors provide the highest lumen-per-watt performance of any 3 chip DLP® displays available.

NextGen Electronics featuring

Consistently projecting beautiful images demands great electronic processing across a diversity of signals. Every TITAN model includes a multitude of inputs, with each being processed using dedicated, best in class technology. This painstaking approach to electronics design is unique to DP, but guarantees the highest quality imagery is rendered from every source.

At the heart of every TITAN Pro Series 3 display lies our newly developed electronics - a high quality re-sizing engine and signal-processing unit that precisely maps every input source to the native resolution of the DMDs. Every TITAN Pro Series 3 model incorporates FusionExpress and MultiBlend, providing advanced warp and blend capabilities. Furthermore, 3D capability is either standard or available as an option for every TITAN model.

By comparison, where other projectors rely on a single chip of silicon to achieve all re-sizing, de-interlacing, decoding and artifact reduction, DP created an efficient electronics architecture that employs the best individual solution for each vital processing step. This detailed and innovative approach to imaging purity takes both time and investment, but guarantees superior on-screen results for all source types.

As the original innovator of the 3-chip DLP® projector, and Texas Instruments’ very first DLP® partner, Digital Projection applies both passion and unparalleled expertise to all of our display designs. Like no other company, we are dedicated to clients and applications that require accurate and powerful large screen solutions. The exclusive performance of our electronics, available in all of our TITAN Pro Series 3 displays, serves as but one very tangible example of how our philosophy and methodology deliver visual experiences that stand above all others.

Precise Color Through TechnologyTITAN’s advanced color calibration brings a new level of precision to large screen projection. All projectors are pre-aligned to a factory reference to assure consistent color performance straight out of the box. For more specific color alignment, the user has the ability to adjust color temperature, as well as the highlights and shadows of individual colors, on both a global and per source level. Given the depth of adjustment handles, TITAN projectors can be quickly benchmarked for color alignment and calibrated for color critical applications.

Nearly all TITAN models include Enhanced Seven Point Colorimetry, a derivative of the digital cinema technology that DP pioneered over the past decade. Enhanced Seven Point Colorimetry provides control over the displayed gamut as well as the individual tones of red, green, blue, cyan, magenta, yellow and white, via presets or user input of programmable target color coordinates.

In addition to Enhanced Seven Point Colorimetry, nearly all TITAN models offer an extensive set of Gamma adjustments for image optimization in various environments. User-friendly Gamma presets that address popular applications are included, as well as a parametric setting enabling the user to set a Gamma from 1.0 to 3.0. DP’s PC or MAC compatible Gamma download tool enables the user to design a custom Gamma curve for either creative or specialized applications.

To further maximize color and spectral performance, most TITAN models also include DP’s exclusive Xenon Color Mode. This revolutionary feature harnesses both seven point colorimetry and accurate notch filtering to replicate the white point and color gamut of a Xenon lamp, from the more efficient mercury-based lamps employed in all TITAN models.

Advanced Features for Immersive ApplicationsFor immersive simulation and visualization applications, TITAN projectors either include or can be ordered with DP’s ultra high bandwidth, 3D sideboard input. When configured with this option, connectivity is provided for sources with 16 bit color – providing improved dark area detail and color depth, as well as for sources operating at the very high frame rates associated with Active 3D content.

TITAN 3D models also include DP’s new FastFrame™ technology, a revolutionary combination of hardware and firmware that reduces the artifacts and image blur typically associated with rapidly moving displayed content. The benefits of FastFrame™ are especially important for simulation environments such as commercial and military flight training, the viewing of fast motion entertainment, such as motorsports and field games, and any other applications where maintaining the visual integrity of high-speed imagery is vital.

Active 3D capable TITAN’s benefit from DP’s exclusive Dual-Flash Processing™ (DFP) – an innovation that provides the ability to distribute 3D content via more traditional, 60 Hz formats, then frame-double those sources within the projector. This produces 3D imagery with the low flicker characteristics of a native 120 Hz source, but with the more economical infrastructure costs associated with distributing and switching 60 Hz signals.

TITAN projectors also incorporate MultiBlend™ – an advanced soft-edge capability for seamlessly meshing arrays of projectors to create displays with ultra-high resolution or unusual aspect ratios. As an example, by employing MultiBlend™, 9 projectors can be configured in a 3 x 3 array to create an image that maintains the aspect ratio of a single projector, but with nearly 9 times the resolution and on-screen lumens. With MultiBlend™ and Active 3D, any number of projectors can be employed to produce astounding, hyper-realistic displays for science, research and entertainment.

DP’s onboard image warp technology, FusionExpress™, is included in every TITAN Pro Series 3 and Pro Series 3D projector. FusionExpress™ provides an intuitive user interface to achieve advanced geometric warp, making it easy to accurately map single and multiple projectors onto projection surfaces with complex geometry, such as cylindrical screens, visualization caves and simulation domes.

A wide variety of TITAN 3D models, all featuring FusionExpress™, MultiBlend™, FastFrame™ and Dual-Flash Processing™, are available – each optimized to deliver maximum lumens, contrast and color fidelity for superb immersive imaging. For applications utilizing screens with complex geometry and requiring minimal video latency, DP offers our powerful Fusion processors. Packaged as discreet components, FUSION MD and FUSION 3D processors enable low latency warp and blend on any DP projector – at resolutions up to WQXGA, and frame rates as high as 120 Hz.

RapidRigTM MechanicsThe rigors of staged events dictate projector rigging and stacking should be simple, fast and precise. DP’s RapidRig™ system, which includes accurate pitch, roll and yaw adjustments for each projector, can be added as an option to all TITAN models. With the RapidRig™ hardware installed, projectors are easily lock-stacked and are ready for fast attachment to truss using industry standard hardware readily available in all parts of the world. No other projector is as easily configured or as ruggedly capable for staging use as the TITAN.

Control FlexibilityAll TITAN models are equipped with LAN, serial, IR and hardwired remote, providing control flexibility for every situation. In addition, a control application is hosted within the projector and can be accessed using a web browser via MAC or PC. Control codes can also be accepted from third party automation solutions.

A backlit remote control is included as well as an integral illuminated keypad. When the projector is ceiling mounted, the keypad can be inverted for ease of operation. A single remote control can command multiple projectors when daisy chained using the supplied remote cable. IR is disabled when a remote is cable connected, preventing erroneous IR signals from creating potential interference.

DP’s elegant approach to simple product design ena-bles streamlined, stress-free maintenance and service access. Lamp and air filter replacement is achieved in minutes and requires no tools. Both components are ac-cessed via an easy to remove, lanyard-supported panel.

In the event further service is required, TITAN electron-ics, power supplies and optical components can be accessed without a major disassembly of the projector. Although not normally required as field service, optical

alignment by a qualified technician is supported by simple rotation of the power supply, which is located on the side of the projector.

Service & Maintenance

User InterfaceFriendly access to user menus is provided via the TITAN’s clean and easy to read OSD. The remote control also includes hot-keys for more commonly accessed image adjustments.

Source setup is simple and intuitive - even automatic. Upon first connection of a new source, DP’s Intelligent Signal Recognition Circuit analyzes the signal and displays a correctly sized and formatted image, adjusted to match the projector’s native aspect ratio. Upon re-appearance of a recently displayed signal, an automatic history memory recalls the last saved setup values for that source. All automatic setup values can be “tweaked” by the projectionist or user, in order to customize each source for venue or content specific requirements.
