Current Events The election period is almost over. Republican

Nominee Donald Trump and Democratic Nominee Hillary Clinton have been going head to head for months now. Some polls show that Hillary is blowing Donald Trump out of the water. Others show that Donald is in a close and competitive race. Regardless of the outcome, it will be an interesting final two weeks before voting day. The day to vote in Ohio is November 8, and polls are open from 6:30 AM to 7:30 PM.

There is speculation that Trump will be starting a nightly news show. The show is said to bypass the left wing media and be called “Trump Tower News”. The first episode aired on the campaign Facebook page. Many are saying that this is a test for Trump TV which is a news program he may run after the election.

Further steps are being taken in SpaceX’s mission to colonize Mars. SpaceX is in the

process of testing a large carbon fiber fuel tank that is vital in the building of their rocket. The reason that it is so vital is that their whole spaceship is centered around it. The problem is that it is so large and that even though carbon fiber is stronger and lighter than regular metals, SpaceX is using liquid oxygen and liquid methane for their fuel. This leaves the tank susceptible to leaking and cracking because these are so cold. Their final test on the tank that they have to do is pressure test the tank to make sure it won’t explode in use. Hopefully the testing continues to go well and no catastrophic events take place.

Jokes So my friend really wanted some bread the other day. He made me go to the store to get some. I got him whole organic bread, even though I didn’t know breader or not he would like it. At yeast it was at no cost for me. When I got home, I couldn’t wait to roll back into bed. I guess I’ll just loaf around all day now. Of course if I did that and my mom found out, I would be toast. That would be one very bad punishment.

Advice

Q. Dear Maurice Fernandez, People keep making fun of me. I know it’s a joke, but it hurts. I’ve tried to tell them stop,

but it didn’t work. What do I do? -Hurt Student

A. Dear Hurt Student, You should stand up to them first and try to tell them to stop. If that doesn’t work, then

go and tell a trusted adult (teacher, parent, etc.) and see if they can help you work it out. -Maurice Fernandez

Q. Dear Maurice Fernandez,

Sometimes I have way too much homework. Do you know how I can manage my time better? Sports really get in the way.

-Stressed Student A. Dear Stressed Student,

Once you have the opportunity to do it, don’t procrastinate. Get it done immediately, and then take free time. If you still can’t get it done, you can stay after school at S.W.A.T. to get some extra time off to get your work done.

T.V. Show: The Big Bang Theory The Maze Runner by James Dashner Review by: Chase Buchanan

The Maze Runner is about a boy named Thomas. He woke up in a black box with supplies in it. Doors from out of the ground opened up, and when they opened, Thomas saw about fifty teenage boys standing above him. Then he noticed, he couldn’t remember anything. The teens had three big rules, but the most important was not to go outside the walls. Thomas realized that he was in a square surrounded by tall stone walls with one small opening. I’d say the readability of this book is pretty easy. I don’t think it would be hard for anyone fifth grade and up. The plot to me is fascinating because young teenagers have to work together to get out of the giant maze. The theme is you must work together to get out of problems. I would like to recommend this book to anyone who likes adventure.

The Crossover by Kwame Alexander Review by: Maddie Carner

The Crossover is about two brothers named Josh and Jordan who are really close. They also play on the basketball team. Then, Jordan gets a girlfriend. This disrupts Josh and Jordan’s relationship. Josh then hits his brother with a basketball, which got Josh suspended from the team. Their dad gets sick and the brothers become friends again. I recommend this book because of the constant action and twists and turns.
