A perfect choice for industrial coatingsTIOXIDE® TR81 pigment is a rutile TiO2 grade, specifically developed for theindustrial coatings market. It provides excellent resistance to weathering(durability) and outstanding whiteness and gloss in a range of industrialcoatings applications, such as powder, protective, coil and automotive.

The above chart shows the four typical areas into which TIOXIDE® TiO2

pigment grades of differing durability fall. Super durable TiO2 pigmentgrades have excellent resistance to weathering (gloss loss & colour fading),as they are designed to minimise the photocatalytic activity of the TiO2.

Huntsman does not recommend any of its titanium dioxide pigments for use in lead-stabilised,rigid PVC formulations.

As for all fine powders, the handling of titanium dioxide pigments can give rise toairborne dust. Good industrial hygiene practice should be observed so as to avoid thegeneration and subsequent inhalation of dust. For more information refer to our materialsafety data sheet.

The subject is too wide to be adequately covered in a technical data sheet andcustomers should seek confirmation of compliance for each of the particular regulationsthey are interested in by contacting Huntsman Pigments Group Technical Service or thelocal sales forces.

The pigment should not be stored in outside areas exposed to the weather. All directcontact with moisture should be avoided. By storing the pigment correctly, its propertiesshould not deteriorate with time. However to ensure optimum performance, it isrecommended that the product is used on a first in, first out basis from receipt ofshipment.
