Concert
What a wonderful night we all experienced on Tuesday at George Wood Theatre. The performance of our students was outstanding and highly entertaining. A huge thank you to the following people:
* the students who rehearsed for weeks to strive for their best performance
* Beth Stephen and Simon Datson for their vision and commitment in seeing to every detail to ensure a great performance
* all staff for their hard work with costumes, props and rehearsing the students
* Lisa and Catherine in the Office for managing ticket sales
* parents who assisted with costumes, making props, helping at the door with ushering and supporting their children
*Bryce C for his great work backstage
*Matthew Elliott for running the sound and lights
It's events like this that demonstrate how fortunate we are to have such a wonderful school community at Tinternvale PS. It is brilliant to have staff and parents who work together to support our students to give the best performance possible. Thank you to everyone.
Last week I mentioned that we were starting a Facebook group. We have changed this to a page. The page will be used to comment on events and notify parents of upcoming activities. If you 'like' the page you will receive notifications. A page like this relies on everyone using it in the correct way. Anyone making negative or inappropriate comments will be blocked.
Camp Level 4 are off to camp next week. Let's wish them great weather and a fun time. They will return by end of school on the last day of term. Thanks to all staff attending the camp (including some of our Deakin students). Camps are only possible when staff are willing to give up their time to attend with students.

Bali Orphanage I support and visit a needy orphanage in Bali each year. I will be doing so again in the September holidays. I would love any sports posters, girls hair accessories and matchbox cars to take with me. Please leave donations at the office.
Thank you, Helen Begbie
Cupcake Day
Last week on Thursday, the JSC held a cupcake stall in the
gym foyer. We sold hundreds of cupcakes with donations from the whole school community. In the end we raised almost $190. The JSC helped by selling, icing and decorating the cupcakes sold. Thank you all for your generous donations which helped make the day a success. Everyone definitely enjoyed themselves and the cupcakes were delicious!

End of Term 3 On Friday the 19th of September Assembly will be at 2:00pm. Students will be dismissed at 2:30pm.
FOOTY DAY
Friday 12th September Tomorrow the whole school will be participating in footy day activities run by the House Captains
to celebrate the upcoming footy finals. After assembly there will be a 'Footy March' where students get to march around the gym with other supporters of the same team.
During the day, students will be participating in their house teams. There will be 4 different
rotations for all the levels.
All students come dressed in your Footy gear. This is a FREE event.
An important Thank You… In the midst of feeling a mix of nervous energy, pride, relief and absolute joy at the conclusion of Tuesday’s concert, I regrettably forgot to publically acknowledge my colleague Lauren Heywood, who has been essential in the running of Senior Choir this year.
Lauren has assisted in supervising every Wednesday afternoon all year as we have sung our way through the last hour of school. This has enabled me to do what I do best whilst keeping everyone focused and on task. She champions our choir, constantly encourages students to be committed, reliable choristers, and brings an enthusiasm and sense of humour that is never unnoticed and always appreciated.
Congratulations to everyone on a superb evening!
