My definition of educational technology

Educational technology is an effective tool of connecting with people in a faster and much easier way with the use of technological operations and related techniques, enabling students to send, receive, exchange messages, knowledge, and explore ideas through research, practice, and creative design that would enhance academic performance and advancement of student learning with the use of computer and new trend of technological equipments.

Kindergarten technology• The use of computer was not yet

popular during my time. I use colored TV, and black& white television at home for entertainment or I go to the movie theatre with my family.

• At present, kindergarteners have computers in the classroom for educational games and programs to test their academic skills and performances.

High school technology• The use of computer was not yet

popular during that time although it was being used in other places. I used the colored TV and black & white TV at home. At school, I used textbooks, other reading materials, and typewriter for my term papers.

• I was a theatre stage actress at school. I witnessed the use of filmmaking equipments, lights and sound effects, and cameras.

College technology• More on reading, learning, mastering

concepts, library research, dissection of animals and learning the parts, and completing the laboratory manuals.

• No available computers in my course but available in other courses like computer science classes.

• At present: use of computer is encouraged and strictly implemented in most classes.

My vision of the classroom of the future

Due to unavoidable increasing number of students in a public school: increase availability of computers in the classroom to maximize skills and class performance.

A challenge for teaching

* An increasing population of students and not enough funding for technological equipments and maintenance.

• Teacher’s expense:

new trends of tools
