Growth Chart
First Post: Physical Development
Weight One year olds weight has tripled since birth averaging about 22 lbs. Two year olds weighs four times as much since birth.
Height One yeah old height increases almost a foot, averaging 30 inches
tall. By two toddlers average a height of three feet.
Head By two years a toddler’s head is 1/5 of the bodies length
Brain Networks of Neurons continue to become more complex and
interconnected Sleep
By age one most toddlers sleep through the night. 15 hours is the average amount of sleep needed per day.
Physical Development
Motor Development One year olds are able to walk well, most without
supports Two year olds are able to jump in place and run. One year olds can pick up small objects Two year olds can carefully pick up, hold, and move
objects intricately. Nutrition
By one a toddler’s diet changes immensely most of the time with the introduction of milk rather than breast milk or formula.
What they consume also depends on the amount of teeth they have at the time, which can vary with every child.
However it is certain that all children need a balanced diet for optimal growth and development.

Second Post: Cognitive Development
Piaget’s Six Sub Stages of the Sensorimotor Stage Stage 5
Tertiary circular reactions, is where toddlers are able to carry out miniature experiments to observe the consequences.
Toddlers tend to conduct these experiments throughout their daily lives, with subtle variations and differences.
Stage 6 Beginnings of thought is where toddlers can use mental
representations, which causes toddlers to use what they have learned from past experiments and experiences to predict outcomes.
Contradictors have held studies that suggest that some of these developments can occur before these ages.
Cognitive Development
Memory A toddler can remember/recall experiences and
events from days/weeks before. One year olds can build blocks and turn pages of
books. One to two year olds can imitate and identify
people and objects in photos. Are able to use one to two word sentences
Two year olds are able to match. Are able to use more words in a sentence but usually
the critical ones, also known as telegraphic speech.
