IBI LOCATION/SITE ANALYSIS MONCTON CITY COUNCIL ACCEPTS IBI REPORT AND AUTHORIZES MAYOR TO ESTABLISH DOWNTOWN CENTRE TASK FORCE Mandate – to review IBI’s findings, validate its conclusions, and recommend to Council whether it should pursue a downtown centre. BUSINESS PLAN City of Moncton and Grant Thornton begin work on downtown centre business plan. COUNCIL ACCEPTS PLAN City of Moncton / Grant Thornton business plan presented to Council. Council accepts plan and approves second phase application to P3 Canada. City files second phase (comprehensive assessment documents) to P3 Canada. P3 FUNDING ANNOUNCEMENTDespite a lengthy and demanding application process (June 2010 - December 2011) to ful�ll P3 Canada Inc.’s requirements, the federal Crown Corporation advised the City of Moncton there was a policy change to the P3 Canada Inc. infrastructure program and that major arena projects were no longer eligible projects. As a result, Moncton’s project application no longer quali�ed for funding through the P3 Canada program.
