Hello, I put this slide show together because most like people I did not understand what the large sums of money, (Millions, Billions or Trillions) which are being talked about in the news really mean. I believe this includes a fair number of the 435 House members as well as the100 members of the Senate, total 535 who just can’t seem to work together. Please look in over, for the best effect, view it as a side show. Please post it and pass it on, that is if you think it would help others better understand the large sums of money, (Millions, Billions or Trillions) that we are all talking about. Thank you for your time and help with this item.

Hello,

I put this slide show together because most like people I did not understand what the large sums of money, (Millions, Billions or Trillions) which are being talked about in the news really mean.

You have 1 Million Seconds (1,000,000) to complete a task.

Question: How many hours, days or years would you have to get it done?

Without doing any math, just take a guess.

Answer:

How close where you?

11.574 Days

Let’s check the math.

Surprised?

Page 4: Time & money presentation 3.0

TIME

Seconds Per Minute = 60

Minutes Per Hour = 60

Seconds Per Hour = 3,600

X

Hours Per Day = 24X

Seconds Per Day = 86,400

1,000,000 Seconds

86,400 Seconds per Day:

= 11.574 Days

You would not live to spend it all.

No one spends money a $1.00 per second!

Page 10: Time & money presentation 3.0

The government does!

24 Hours a Day, 7 Days a Week, 365 Days a Year!

The government takes in and spends money!

However, talking about earning or spending money at $1.00 per second is a bit odd.

So lets look at it in terms most of us understand.

By the hour.

$1.00 per second = $3,600.00 per hour

Question: If you spent it all by the hour, in one year, 24 Hours a Day, over the 365 Days, how much would you spend each hour?

Answer: $114.15 Per Hr

Surprised?

Remember that’s based on 8,760 hours.

Question: If you spent it all by the hour, in one year, 24 Hours a Day, over the 365 Days, how much would you spend each hour?

Answer: $114,155.25 Per Hr

That’s a big change.

That’s based on 8,760 hours.

Money

You have 1 Trillion Dollars ($1,000,000,000,000.00)

Question: If you spent it all by the hour, in one year, 24 Hours a Day, over the 365 Days, how much would you spend each hour?

Answer: $114,155,251.14 Per Hr

That’s over 114 Million per hour.

That’s still based on 8,760 hours.

How close where you?

Page 15: Time & money presentation 3.0

8,760 hours in a year is still somewhat of an odd number.

40 Hr per week x 52 weeks per year = 2,080 work hours per year

So lets look at it from Dollars per hour based on a 40 hour work week.

Page 16: Time & money presentation 3.0

Money

You earn 1 Million Dollars a year. ($1,000,000.00)

Question: If this is based on a 40 hour work week, how much are you paid per hour?

Answer: $480.77 Per Hr

Congratulations you may be a Doctor or a Lawyer

Most of us tax payers don’t earn this per year.

Page 17: Time & money presentation 3.0

Money

You earn 1 Billion Dollars a year. ($1,000,000,000.00)

Question: If this is based on a 40 hour work week, how much are you paid per hour?

Answer: $480,769.23 Per Hr

That’s a big jump.

Some corporation earn this in a year.

How close where you?

Page 18: Time & money presentation 3.0

Money

You earned 1 Trillion Dollars this year. ($1,000,000,000,000.00)

Question: If this is based on a 40 hour work week, how much are you paid per hour?

Answer: $480,769,230.77 Per Hr

The government doesn’t earn this in a year.

That’s over 480 Million per hour.

But the government spends more than this a year.

Page 19: Time & money presentation 3.0

Money

The numbers on the last slide are just to incredible to identify with.

Ok, that fair. So lets look at it as a loan to be repaid over 30 years.

Many of us tax payers have a 30 loan on our homes.

12 months x 30 years = 360 payments

Page 20: Time & money presentation 3.0

Money

You have a 1 Million Dollar loan. ($1,000,000.00)

Question: If you pay it monthly for 30 years, without interest, what would the payment be?

Answer: $2,777.77 Per Month

That’s not to high.

Remember, no interest, with interest the payment would be higher.

Page 21: Time & money presentation 3.0

Money

You have a 1 Billion Dollar Loan. ($1,000,000,000.00)

Question: If you pay it monthly for 30 years, without interest, what would the payment be?

Answer: $2,777,777.78 Per Month

That’s a big jump.

Still that’s not so bad, for the government.

Over 2.7 Million Per Month.

Page 22: Time & money presentation 3.0

Money

You have a 1 Trillion Dollar Loan. ($1,000,000,000,000.00)

Question: If you pay it monthly for 30 years, without interest, what would the payment be?

Answer: $2,777,777,777.78 Per Month

Yes, that’s a B for Billion.

That’s over 2.7 Billion Per Month!

It’s a good thing the government makes the payment!

Page 23: Time & money presentation 3.0

Hey wait! Where does the government get the money to make the payments?

Money

From the taxpayers.

Over 2.7 Billion Per Month!

No! We the taxpayers, on behalf of our government, owe over 14.5 Trillion,

Remember, that’s without interest.

That’s over 40.27 Billion Per Month, or 483.24 Billion Per Year, for the next 30

years.

Page 24: Time & money presentation 3.0

Still not sure about the numbers, well lets take a look at it based on earnings over 45 years.

Why 45 years?

Well, lets say you start working at age 20, and you work to age 65, that’s 45 years.

Time & Money

Now lets say you average $25,000.00 per year

How much would you earn over 45 years?

Answer: $1,125,000.00

Page 25: Time & money presentation 3.0

Congratulations you are a Millionaire!

Time & Money

Well, that’s before Taxes!

$50,000.00 per year x 45 = $2,250,000.00

$75,000.00 x 45 = $3,375,000.00

$100,000.00 x 45 = $4,500,000.00

$150,000.00 x 45 = $6,750,000.00

$250,000.00 x 45 = $11,250,000.00

Remember, this is before Taxes!

Page 26: Time & money presentation 3.0

Time & Money

$500,000.00 x 45 = $22,500,000.00

$750,000.00 x 45 = $33,750,000.00

$1,000,000.00 x 45 = $45,000,000.00

$5,000,000.00 x 45 = $225,000,000.00

What! That can’t be true!

$10,000,000.00 x 45 = $450,000,000.00

$22,000,000.00 x 45 = $990,000,000.00

After 45 years of earning 22 Million per year you still did not earn 1 Billion.

Page 27: Time & money presentation 3.0

Time & Money

If you earned $1,000,000.00 (1 Million) a year you would be earning more than

most of the U. S. Taxpayers.

However, It would take you 1,000 years to earn $1,000,000,000.00

(1 Billion)

It would take you 1,000,000 (1 Million) years to earn $1,000,000,000,000.00

(1 Trillion)

Hey, your numbers must be wrong!

Page 28: Time & money presentation 3.0

Time & Money

Well than, lets look at the numbers.

1,000,000,000 (1 Billion)1,000,000,000,000

(1 Trillion)

1,000 x 1,000 = 1,000,000 (1 Million)

1,000 x 1Million =

1,000 x 1Billion =

Remember, to spent 1 Trillion Dollars in one year, 24/7/365, the government is spending over 114 Million Dollars per

hour, for each of the 8760 hours in a year!

Page 29: Time & money presentation 3.0

Time & Money

We the taxpayers, on behalf of our government, owe over 14.5 Trillion,

For this year alone, our government will add about 1.5 Trillion to what we owe.

That puts the total debt at about 16 Trillion

we the taxpayers will owe on behalf of our government’s spending.

Remember, that’s without interest.

Page 30: Time & money presentation 3.0

Time & Money

You can’t spend what you don’t have!

But our government can and will.

If we let them!

Please call, text, or e-mail someone in our government, tell them to stop playing around.

Tell them to find a solution on spending, taxes and our debt.

Page 31: Time & money presentation 3.0

Time & Money

Thank you for your time and your tax money to pay our bills.

Please feel free to check the numbers and the math.

Please feel free to pass this along.
