Company: Slice Design

Client: United Biscuits

Slice Design won a tender for

Untied Biscuit’s McVities

overseas packaging.

I was given the task of

unraveling the complex pre-

press files that were supplied

by the previous design

agency – and simplifying them

for use by Slice’s designers on

new packs.

McVities Canadian dual languagepackaging Slice Design were supplied with an outlinedAdobe Illustrator file containing an EskoPowerTrapper layer. Also supplied was acomplex, layered Photoshop file containingmany working, redundant and turned-offlayers – along with a myriad of alphachannels and spot channels with trappingapplied. I had to deconstruct both files andrebuild the artwork in a manner that wouldsimplify any future artwork creation.

Company: Slice Design

Client: Unilever/Koipe Spain

Unilever had asked Slice

Design to refresh the current

Natacha butter/margarine

product on sale in Spain.

The final route had been

chosen and I created the

artwork in Adobe Illustrator.

The client then asked for a 3D

build of this final artwork to

be mapped onto a margarine

tub of the same size before

the artwork was sent to print.

Slice had no 3D packages so I

was tasked with building the

3D model from a photograph

of the tub in Photoshop using

layers and paths.

Company: Basten Greenhill Andrews

Client: Porsche UK

The Porsche account was a

pleasure to work on, due to

the fact that they always had

large print budgets and they

were very keen on pushing

boundaries to the limits on

their printed material. Most of

the work was for their

accessories and vehicle

pre-order customisation.

This press pack was used

to launch a new product.
