“Tiger Paw Adventures are the best!

We were advised by friends to let Tiger Paw make all the arrangements for a three week trip with our two sons and our daughter-in-law. We chose the cities (Delhi, Pushkar, Jaipur, Agra, Varanasi, and Kathmandu) and most of the hotels, as that

are something I love to do, and Tiger Paw put together a fabulous trip for us. We had drivers and guides everywhere we went,

and a guardian angel in the form of Rohit Ninoriya who solved any and all problems day and night, as they arose, sometimes

before we even knew about them! We went off the beaten path at several points, sometimes at our request and sometimes on the Tiger Paw recommendation, and found magnificently meaningful experiences everywhere. Our guides were exceptional for

their local contacts, spiritual sensibility, and scientific knowledge, and also for a genuine warmth and friendliness that made

them feel part of our family. Most of all we came to rely on the excellent reputation of Tiger Paw within the travel community to

open doors for us and guarantee first-class service and extra attention everywhere we went.

We felt very safe and confident with Tiger Paw, and were free to enjoy the grandeur and beauty of India without a care. I can't

say enough good things about this company, and I can't imagine taking a trip to India without them. “Julia Brown, USA”

“Tiger Paw Adventures--No One Better My friend and I have just returned from a journey across India, from the hill stations of the north to the palaces and forts of

Rajasthan and the golden city of Jaisalmer and the Thar desert that surrounds it. Our visit was handled exclusively by Tiger Paw

Adventures. It was a complicated journey across many thousands of miles that took up nearly four weeks. Thanks to Inder Jit

Singh and his staff at Tiger Paw Adventures, it was a meticulously planned, flawless,

fascinating experience. There was not a single day that saw a single problem. The suggestions for our itinerary were thoughtful, helpful; indeed, essential. Our drivers

and guides were uniformly gifted, caring, and full of rich insights.

We must mention our driver in particular--Duleep Kumar of Tamarind, retained by

Inder Jit--a skilled, patient, dedicated driver who negotiated extremely difficult

terrain with aplomb, always inspiring confidence and gratitude in his passengers.

Rohit Ninoriya, of Tiger Paw, was again a true master of ceremonies. Other

standouts included Raghu Rathore who showed us Jodhpur, and Rahul Kumar who

led us through Mussoorie and Landour. In 2016, I also joined Tiger Paw Adventures

for a 20+-person trip to Delhi and Agra and points beyond. This was an even more

complicated assignment for Tiger Paw Adventures, also handled with consummate

skill, dedication, and informed advice. I grew up in India and twice now Inder Jit and his company have enriched my life beyond

any reckoning or description that could do justice to the trust and gratitude Tiger Paw inspires nor to the profound experiences

that Inder Jit and Tiger Paw provide. I will be back, only with Tiger Paw Adventures in charge. “John Close, USA”

The Brown family immersed themselves in all things Indian and Nepali-from desert dancers to camel festivals,

monuments and mountains! Below: Johnny Close’s street adventures in Rajasthan.

“Our trip to India

Tiger Paw Adventures set up our trip to India. It arranged all of our transportation and accommodations. No one could have done

a better job. We enjoyed our trip immensely due to the fact that Tiger Paws arranged a seamless trip and any questions or

issues we had were answered and/or resolved very quickly. It also took care of all our extra requests immediately. As a result,

our trip from Kerala to the Punjab was very enjoyable and stress free. “Kabel Atwall, CANADA”

“Simply the BEST

I have traveled seven times with Tiger Paw Adventures - both in a small group and as a solo - North, South, East, and West -

and this company is simply the best. Tailoring my Indian trips to my specific need and desires. From Nagaland to the Andaman

Islands, I have never been disappointed whether roughing it or in the lap of luxury. This company goes above and beyond to accommodate its clients, which is why I have repeated and recommend Tiger Paw Adventures to colleagues and friends who

want to visit India. Used Tiger Paw to show three friends why I love India. This company was always ready to find alternatives, if

plans were complicated by the unforeseen, as happens in India from time to time. “Eugenia Hunter, USA”

Later in the year, our discerning band of American travellers and anthro photography enthusiasts cover India’s extreme north

eastern territories, including some unique festivals. Beginning in Kolkatta, that historic city once known as the Paris of the East,

the trip takes us to Imphal, capital of Manipur state. Here the idyllic landscapes (once under attack by the invading Japanese in

1944) and incredible dance, martial arts and sporting culture provide a perfect setting for two unique events. These are the

Sangai Festival, a cultural extravaganza, and the Inter Nations Polo Tournament.

Take a long step back into ancient history heading due east. Where current day India ends past Assam (renowned for Assam and Darjeeling tea), and Burma land of rubies and teak, now known as Myanmar begins, lies the ancient kingdom of Manipur.

Abutting the Shan peoples and hills of Burma and possessing tremendous commonalities with them, Manipur converted to Hinduism in the

1600’s by royal decree. Today while it is 44% christian in denomination, and 2% mohammedan, the remaining 52% of the population are of the Hindu faith. In hindu mythology it was Indra god of the heavens who gifted the winged horse to man, by slashing its wings to remain

below. An offshoot of this legend is that of the Manipuri diety Marjing, the horse god who in turn was the inspiration behind the ruler of

Manipur creating the sport for his troops. While many believe ancient Persia and Mongolia show evidence in even more ancient history of the sport being played, it certainly died out there to be played in the North West Frontier in Chitral (now with Pakistan), then across the border

in India’s Kargil, Drass and Leh districts of Ladakh (in the state of Jammu & Kashmir). But was here in Manipur that the British tea planters

found the most sophisticated version of the sport being played.

During the course of the tournament, players visited local festivals, native bazaars, rock music and fashion shows which were of an

international class, and banquets hosted by the MHRPA. The President of the Association led by H Deleep Singh with his and the rest of the

MHRPA team, did a stellar job in organizing all aspects of the tournament. The arrangements for the guests and their hospitality did not fall short at any stage of the eight day duration. This included excursion to the beautiful Loktak Lake (see pictures above).

While the English gave India cricket, they took polo from Manipur from where it went to the rest of the

world. This year, a ten goal Argentinian team came and gave a thriller with the home team winning by a

goal. Below, the incredible Lohktak Lake through the lens of Momo Irengbam lens mister from Manipur.
