The first settlers arrived

from England on July

6, 1680 under the

leadership of Captain

Florentia O’Sullivan.

Captain O’Sullivan had

been granted 2,340

acres, which included

not only the island that

bears his name, but also

the land that was to

become Mount Pleasant.

Tides IV is the last of four residential building the we planned for

the Tides community. The first three set a standard for waterfront

living in Mount Pleasant and Charleston. The fourth promises

to offer even more. A team of highly experienced architects,

designers, and land planners spent months preparing Tides IV.

The building itself, started with a unique financial advantage – a

substantial retainer wall had been built for the first three building

and Tides IV got a free ride on that expensive undertaking. And,

because of the retainer wall, the view corridors were already

established – long views to the Cooper River and the tidal
