Table 3 Syntax Typographical Conventions

Convention Use

[ ] An optional item in a command or code syntax.

For example:

MyCommand [optional_parameter] required_parameter

| A logical OR that separates multiple items of which only one may be chosen.

For example, you can select only one of the following parameters:

MyCommand param1 | param2 | param3

{ } A logical group of items in a command. Other syntax notations may appear within each logical group.

For example, the following command requires two parameters, which can be either the pair param1 and param2, or the pair param3 and param4.

MyCommand {param1 param2} | {param3 param4}

In the next example, the command requires two parameters. The first parameter can be either param1 or param2 and the second can be either param3 or param4:

MyCommand {param1 | param2} {param3 | param4}

In the next example, the command can accept either two or three parameters. The first parameter must be param1. You can optionally include param2 as the second parameter. And the last parameter is either param3 or param4.

New Features

The following new features have been added to version 7.1.0 of TIBCO ActiveMatrix Adapter for SAP.

Support for Fault Tolerance

This release adds support for fault tolerance.

Support for JMS Compression

For the Request-Response Invocation and the Request-Response Services, the JMS request and the JMS reply messages can be compressed.

Support for TID Management for Inbound Adapter Services

TID Management guarantees that no transactional data is duplicated in the case of communication errors occured between the adapter and the SAP system. This feature is available for the Request-Response Service with one-way invocation configured and the Subscription Service.

Support for IDoc Confirmation for Subscription Service

For the Subscription Service with the tRFC protocol, once the SAP system receives an IDoc, the adapter publishes an IDoc confirmation message report. This message report includes the IDoc number and status.

Support for Message Confirmation for Request-Response Service

Once the SAP system receives a message, the adapter publishes a confirmation message report. This feature is available for the Request-Response Service with one-way invocation configured.

Support for Automatic Commit

For the Request-Response Service, when the transaction or the logical unit of work in the SAP system consists of only one RFC/BAPI call, the adapter automatically commits this RFC/BAPI call.

Migration and Compatibility

The following are instructions on how to migrate from a previous release to version 7.1.0 of TIBCO ActiveMatrix Adapter for SAP.

This section provides information about compatibility of the adapter and its data migration support for other TIBCO applications.

The configuration in earlier release, that is not supported in version 7.1.0, is ignored during migration and not used by the adapter.

The following migration processes are specific to the projects in TIBCO designer.

For how to migrate a project in TIBCO Business Studio, see the TIBCO ActiveMatrix Adapter Framework documentation.

Migrating from 6.2.x/7.0.0 to 7.1.0When you migrate projects to this release from versions 6.2.x or 7.0.0, note the following points:

• TIBCO ActiveMatrix Adapter for SAP 7.1.0 can co-exist in the same TIBCO Administrator domain as TIBCO ActiveMatrix Adapter for SAP 6.2.x or 7.0.0, where the domain can either be ISO8859-1 or UTF-8.

• Migrate existing projects using the command-line migration tool or TIBCO Designer. It is recommended that you use the command-line migration tool for migrating existing projects. For more information, see “Migrating an Adapter Project” in TIBCO ActiveMatrix Adapter for SAP Configuration and Deployment.

Migrating from 6.1.0 and EarlierWhen you migrate projects from a release earlier than 6.2.0, first you have to migrate the projects to the 6.2.1 or 7.0.0 release.

Make a backup copy of the project before starting the migration process.

Closed Issues | 7

Closed Issues

The table lists closed issues in version 7.1.0 of TIBCO ActiveMatrix Adapter for SAP.

Table 4 Closed Issues

Key Summary

ASAP-3444 When the SAP system received the IDoc from the Subscription Service, this service did not confirm the transaction (TID) occasionally, which resulted in unconfirmed entries stored in the ARFCRSTATE table in SAP system.

ASAP-3392 When the name of a RFC table component in parent structure was the same as the one in child structure, the adapter did not fetch the RFC in TIBCO Designer.

ASAP-3014 An error occured when using the Request-Response Service to invoke one of the following SAP function modules:

• IDOC_INBOUND_ASYNCHRONOUS

• IDOC_INBOUND_IN_QUEUE

• INBOUND_IDOC_PROCESS

ASAP-2970 When the Request-Response Service with one-way invocation configured sent a request to the SAP system , if an error occurred in the SAP system, this request was not saved to the LogRFC destination.

ASAP-2912 When multiple Publication Services and Subscription Services existed in a project, if these services used different destinations for error logging, the configuration for the project was not saved correctly.

ASAP-2906 When you created a new project from an existing DAT file, the threadCount property was set to 1 automatically.

ASAP-2711 When the adapter invoked an Inbound adapter service using a dynamic connection, two connections were opened in the SAP system.

ASAP-2488 If the parameters of a RFC referred to a nested type and the type name was same as the RFC name, the RFC Schema was not displayed correctly in TIBCO Designer.

TIBCO ActiveMatrix Adapter for SAP Release Notes

8 | Release Notes

ASAP-2427 When you configured the Request-Response Service as one-way invocation, the following functionalities were not supported:

• TID Management: Local and Remote

• Confirmation/Reporting

ASAP-2425 The Subscription Service did not support the following functionalities:

• TID Management: Local and Remote

• Confirmation/Reporting

Table 4 Closed Issues (Cont’d)

Key Summary

TIBCO ActiveMatrix Adapter for SAP Release Notes

Known Issues | 9

Known Issues

The table lists known issues in version 7.1.0 of TIBCO ActiveMatrix Adapter for SAP.

Table 5 Known Issues (Sheet 1 of 4)

Key Summary/Workaround

ASAP-3671 Summary: An error occurs when using the Request-Response Invocation Service to invoke an RFC/BAPI, if the RFC/BAPI contains an IMPORT, EXPORT, or CHANGING parameter that part of the parameter schema refers to a table type, and the corresponding line type of the table type refers to a domain, data element, or predefined data element.

Workaround: Use a structure as the line type instead.

ASAP-3659 Summary: The Outbound bgRFC of type T does not work.

Workaround: Use the tRFC or the qRFC instead.

ASAP-3562 Summary: The valid durable name of the JMS topic subscriber endpoint at run time is not the one specified at design time, but the one generated by the SDK adapter.

Workaround: None.

ASAP-3007 Summary: For Inbound services, the qRFC property, qCount, does not work.

Workaround: The SAP system assigns the qCount property when the message is received. Ensure that the message is sent to the adapter in the required order and that the number of threads per Inbound adapter service is one.

ASAP-2969 Summary: When using the command-line migration tool to migrate a project to TIBCO ActiveMatrix Adapter for SAP 7.1.0, the product classes are not migrated.

Workaround: After migrating a project by using the command-line tool, you have to open and save the project in TIBCO Designer, and then the product classes are migrated automatically.

TIBCO ActiveMatrix Adapter for SAP Release Notes

10 | Release Notes

ASAP-2895 Summary: If you start the adapter when the network connection is broken or the connection to the SAP system is unavailable, the adapter takes considerable time to reconnect to the SAP system.

Workaround:

• For an Outbound adapter, specify the maxRetryInterval property with a larger value.

• For an Inbound adapter, specify the maxAttempts property with a larger value.

ASAP-2894 Summary: The support for Decfloat16 and Decfloat34 is up to 15 characters and 31 characters respectively.

Workaround: None.

ASAP-2884 Summary: When the adapter is stopped during startup initialization, the log in the console window is incomplete.

Workaround: Use the log file available in the TIB_ADR3_HOME /logs directory to check the complete adapter logging information.

ASAP-2877 Summary: The time when the next server connection check takes place provide by the adapter does not reflect the actual time.

Workaround: None.

ASAP-2840 Summary: An error occurs when using the migration tool to migrate mutiple projects by using the -projectdir option.

Workaround: Migrate each project separately by using the -projectfile option.

ASAP-2816 Summary: When running the Inbound adapter on a Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server 6.x, if the transport type of the adapter service is Rendezvous, the adapter crashes.

Workaround: In the TRA file of the adapter, set the tibco.env_STD_CP_EXT property to Rendezvous_HOME\lib\tibrv.jar.

Table 5 Known Issues (Sheet 2 of 4)

Key Summary/Workaround

TIBCO ActiveMatrix Adapter for SAP Release Notes

Known Issues | 11

ASAP-2801 Summary: When using the qRFC protocol to invoke an RFC transaction in an Outbound adapter service, if a message is published subsequently, the following properties are not populated in the RFCClosure class:

• bQueue

• qName

• qCount

Workaround: None.

ASAP-2732 Summary: When using Rendezvous transport between a Request-Response Invocation Service and a Request-Response Service in a TIBCO ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks 5 process, if the schema of the operation containsa reference to the Binary data type, the corresponding request data from the adapter service is empty and a deserialization error occurs in the process.

Workaround: This issue is related to the TIBCO Rendezvous issue RV-3103. For details about the resolution, see LBN1-EWOQBG on the TIBCO Support website.

ASAP-2492 Summary: When using the SAP transaction SM59 to test the connection between the SAP system and the Outbound adapter, the testing is not displayed in the adapter log.

Workaround: Ensure that the adapter has been started by checking the results of excuting the SAP transaction SM59.

ASAP-2433 Summary: ReadIDocFromFile Plugin for the adapter is not supported.

Workaround: Use TIBCO ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks to replay the IDoc file.

ASAP-2066 Summary: The EAR file created for a project configured with JMS SSL transport does not include the certificates and the identity folders.

Workaround: Add these folders manually when creating the EAR file from the resource. These folders are available in the Resources tab of the Share Archive folder.
