Discover the latest features of our sidewall inspection machine: the MCAL 4. It fully benefits from TIAMA know-how in optical solutions with already more than 2500 sidewall inspection machines installed all over the world.

MCAL 4 comes with 4 detections integrating all TIAMA innovations such as:• High definition cameras for sidewall inspection,• 3D masks technology for optimized detection performances.

1. HD SIDEWALLDetection of all visual defects in the sidewall (stones, inclusions, birdwings, blisters, dirty spots, tears…). Up to 12 dedicated views for sidewall and for shoulder inspection.

The SIDEWALL function is based upon powerful features enabling to perform accurate inspection on all engraved and customized glass articles. Its newly implemented 5MPx camera allows to enhance the sidewall inspection capability.

• The learning techniques consist in applying a specific detection in engravings. Dynamic masks are learning article’s shadows and shapes to perform detection with the highest possible sensitivity.

It becomes possible to optimize the inspection according to each bottle area.

• The embossing location allows identifying and following the embossing’s position whatever the bottle orientation is (on round articles).

u Detection of defects located on the engravings height with a high sensitivity.

u Inspection of the areas around the embossing.

• The 3D masks are a combination of both: the learning techniques and the embossing location.

u A 360° inspection coverage inside and outside the engraved areas.

u Optimized detection performances.

2. STRESSDetection of all stress defects generating tensions in the sidewall (stones, pieces of porcelain/silicium, annealing defects…). Up to 12 dedicated views for sidewall and shoulder stress inspection.

3. DIMUp to 12 views dedicated to dimensional inspection without contact or rotation using 3D correlation (bent neck, total leaner, height, and diameter).

4. HD LOW CONTRASTA new sidewall body camera resolution: 5x more pixels for an improved capability to natively detect low contrasted defects. This “low contrast” detection improves the object classification performances.Up to 6 dedicated views.

Mixed production management• Ability to inspect several types of glass containers (different sizes, different shapes,

engraved or not…) at once, on the same MCAL 4.• Up to 6 different articles inspected simultaneously.
