TI-COYO Baltic 56 BROKER COMMENTS: Baltic 56-05 was a custom project conceived and built for her present owner. He wanted a fast cruising hull which was provided by the superb Judel & Vrolijk design, but the owner had special ideas as to deck and interior layout. Hence Ti-Coyo is a special and much customised yacht. 56-05 was the first (and is the only) Baltic 56 with a deckhouse. This deckhouse with opening side and front windows offers a cosy sheltered cockpit (upper saloon) for dining or for protection against the elements (be that cold or hot weather). Her deck layout is more in the style of a mega yacht with this large cockpit intended for use like an outdoor saloon. The living space below decks is comfortable and ample for 4-6 persons. Both on deck and below very special attention has been given to large storage spaces (note the custom fender lockers, large lazarette and also inside lockers). The deck plan and the sail handling systems have all been designed bearing in mind this yacht was to be, and has been, used for single handed cruising. Nevertheless to ensure excellent sailing performance in light weather this yacht also has more sail area than a standard Baltic 56. Most systems have back-ups for redundancy. Both engine and generator have dry exhaust systems for quiet running. The yacht was first supplied with a “Park Av” style boom and normal reefing. But after one season the owner chose to change to a boom furling system and Ti-Coyo was then fitted with an all new mast, new boom and new rigging! There are many other special and unique features to the yacht. She has seen only light use in summer months and has been maintained well by experienced personnel. Ti-Coyo is a very special yacht. Safety equipment including EPIRB and life raft OWNER COMMENTS My husband follows two passions: sailing and designing (houses and boats). Ti-Coyo no. 9 is the result of 40 years of sailing in northern and southern Europe. We always loved to live "outside" in the open (and not in the usual "cellar"), but also we like shelter from sun, wind and water. This unique layout - you won't find it even on much larger boats - attracted lots of admirers in every anchorage or harbour. It was not my idea to sell our Baltic 56 as we were easily able to sail it in all weather conditions - but we are now building Ti-Coyo no.10.
