Thursday June 7, 2018 4 STATE TIMES NEWS JAMMU: Former Minister and MLA Priya Sethi on Wednesday said main stretch of market from Raghunath Chowk to City Chowk and right upto Purani Mandi where Ram Mandir is located should be declared and devel- oped as Heritage Bazaar since this stretch has maximum old buildings, temples and schools besides houses whose architec- ture is worth preserving. Appreciating Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti for releasing additional funds for develop- ment of Raghunath Bazaar, Priya Sethi appealed that other connecting bazaars also need similar preference so that their aesthetics is maintained. "There are homes and tem- ples on this stretch whose architecture resembles that of Mubarak Mandi and Sheesh Mahal. This is why the entire stretch should be declared as historic," she added. While interacting with repre- sentatives of all bazaars after inspecting preparedness for installation of statue of Raja Jambulochan at Purani Mandi, the former minister said that during the era of erstwhile Maharaja, the King of Jammu used to tread this path on elephants and horses right up to Mubarak Mandi and that makes it a perfect place to be declared as Heritage Bazaar. The representatives of all Bazaars including Purani Mandi Association, City Chowk Association, Raj Tilak Road Association, Old Hospital Road Association, residents of Old City and oth- ers demanded that entire stretch should be declared as Heritage and developed accordingly. According to report, Police Station Kokernag received a complaint from one person stating therein that his daughter in law was abducted by the accused from Sonabrari Kokernag on December 22, 2017 from her home. In this regard, a case FIR No 231/2017 under Section 366-RPC was registered. On June 1, 2018, another written complaint was received by Police Station Kokernag by Begum Jan, wife of Shareef Bimla that her daughter (name withheld) was abducted by one person from her home on May 30, 2018. In this regard, a case FIR No 73/2018 under Section 366-RPC registered in Police Station Kokernag. During the course of investigation, police constituted a special team headed by SHO Police Station Kokernag. After strenuous efforts, both the girls were recovered and the accused persons were arrested from a far flung area of district Anantnag. After completions of legal formalities, both the girls were handed over to their legal heirs. They were demanding imple- mentation of 7th Pay Commission, enhancement in the wages of the daily wagers and revocation of order for 'no work, no pay'. "We are on continuous protest since May 25, but no one from the administration and JDA are bothered to lis- ten to our demands", they alleged. JDA employees continue protest JDA employees raising slogans during a protest. 16 kg polythene seized STATE TIMES NEWS RAMBAN: Checking squad comprising officers and officials of Pollution Control Board Ramban, Forest Protection Force and Municipality Committee Ramban conducted market checking in Ramban town and seized about 16 kg of banned polythene carry bags from shopkeepers, fruit and vegetable vendors. The team also checked the rates of fruits, vegetables, milk, gen- eral stores, dhabas and other eatables besides inspecting the qual- ity of these commodities. SRINAGAR: Police on Wednesday solved two kidnappingcases and recovered the abducted girls.

According to report, Police Station Kokernag received acomplaint from one person stating therein that hisdaughter in law was abducted by the accused fromSonabrari Kokernag on December 22, 2017 from herhome.

In this regard, a case FIR No 231/2017 under Section366-RPC was registered.

On June 1, 2018, another written complaint wasreceived by Police Station Kokernag by Begum Jan, wifeof Shareef Bimla that her daughter (name withheld) wasabducted by one person from her home on May 30, 2018.

In this regard, a case FIR No 73/2018 under Section366-RPC registered in Police Station Kokernag.

During the course of investigation, police constituted aspecial team headed by SHO Police Station Kokernag.

After strenuous efforts, both the girls were recoveredand the accused persons were arrested from a far flungarea of district Anantnag.

After completions of legal formalities, both the girlswere handed over to their legal heirs.

RAMBAN: Checking squad comprising officers and officials ofPollution Control Board Ramban, Forest Protection Force andMunicipality Committee Ramban conducted market checking inRamban town and seized about 16 kg of banned polythene carrybags from shopkeepers, fruit and vegetable vendors.

The team also checked the rates of fruits, vegetables, milk, gen-eral stores, dhabas and other eatables besides inspecting the qual-ity of these commodities. Officers warned the unscrupuloustraders to desist from using unfair trade practices, overchargingand stressed for maintaining sanitation and display of rate listand stickers. They also appealed to the consumers to remain vig-ilant while purchasing the commodities.

The shopkeepers were also instructed to abstain from use ofbanned polythene carry bags below 50 microns in thickness andwarned for action if such violations are observed in future.
