October is upon us and our semester is rapidly reaching the half-way mark. There are several events that I would like to mention. First congratulation to all of our JAG initiates and Academic Jacket honorees. In regard to both events, I am very proud of our students and the determina- tion and dedication they have made towards their academic careers. Parent- Teacher Conferences are coming up on October 10th from 3:30-6:30pm. We ask that parents schedule their conferences through Ms. Inman in the guidance office (812-825-5621 ext. 2152). These conferences are a great opportunity to get a snapshot of your students academic progress and to meet the many new faces we have on campus. I hope to see you there! Finally, we have a number of testing schedules rolling out. Ac- cuplacer testing will occur for all students wanting to be eligible for dual credit through Ivy Tech. This testing will begin within the week. ASVAB and PSAT testing will take place on October 30th for all 10th-12th grade students. It is incredibly important your students get a good nights rest, show up to school on time, and are prepared to take these assessments. Freshman will be taking a field trip to Hoosier Hills to see all the opportunities we provide through our Career and Technical Edu- cation Program. Please remember that school will not be in session for the week of Oct. 13th. We will resume classes on October 21st. We hope that you have a safe and relaxing Fall Break. Class of 2020 Info:

*Yearbook Guidelines for Senior Pictures (8/09/19) (also used for senior composite (wall display) and Greene County Daily World All-

county senior supplement)

In order to maintain the quality of the senior section in the yearbook, the following guidelines will

continue to be used.

All seniors should have a picture taken by Inter-State Studio on August 15. First of all, the

office needs a copy. Secondly, this may be used for the yearbook if you have no other

photographer. As this picture may be the one you choose to use in the yearbook and the

senior composite (wall display), please dress appropriately. Senior pictures have histori-

cally been more formal in the area of wardrobe choice. School dress code applies! (No hats, neckline issues, spaghetti straps, etc.) Please keep in mind that you may

need to have pictures for scholarship or job applications, etc.

You may submit a picture from another photographer, BUT there are requirements. (Please

share with your photographer.)

The picture must be e-mailed (jpeg) to Mrs. Bartlett.

[email protected] (or bring in memory card/flash drive) We do

edit/crop pics. for sizing and lighting. The picture must be in color. WE MUST SEE YOUR EYES!

We usually have used a head and shoulder shot (for photographer—measurement

should be approx. 1 and 1/8 inch from top of head to bottom of chin). The pic.

should have a vertical format. Other views may be submitted for consideration. If

the picture is lacking in clarity or quality, we will use the best option. No writ-

ing on shirts.

No extras in pictures will be allowed—pets, cars, trucks, or other objects.

The picture is to have NO special effect such as halo or soft touch. Background

should be appropriate and not a distraction.

School dress code applies!

ABSOLUTE DEADLINE!!—THURSDAY, DECEMBER 12.

December 12 is the deadline for pictures from other photographers.

Again, please have your picture taken by the school photographer as a backup.

You are a part of this school’s history. We want you to be represented, so please

meet the deadline.

One of the best resources for keeping you informed about your students grades and classes is Harmony. Harmony can be accessed through our school webpage. Go to the high school page and you will need a login and password then you will have access to the following items: - Student grades - Individual classroom assignments - You can set up push notifications to be sent notifications from Har-mony (alerting you of grade changes, attendance, and discipline referrals) - Check that emergency contacts are current, in case your child is sick.

Important Info from the School Nurse: Please contact Nurse Debbie at 825-5623 ext. 1008 if your

child has a health condition that we need to put a health plan

in place. Examples for this would be an allergy that requires

your child to have an epi pen or some type of emergency

care, history of seizures, severe asthma or any chronic condi-

tion that may need some type of intervention from the staff.
